If he’s not going to Real Madrid I have no idea what he’s doing.

La Liga enforces FFP to the extent it's gonna ruin a fair amount of the league for the next decade, so I imagine Madrid are probably hyper aware of where their limits lie and his demands might be outside of them.

  6. This would be a massive signing for us. And reading how he’d slot into the squad makes me realize I have no clue how MLS roster rules work.

  7. PSG bought the two best strikers outside of Kane available last summer so I’m guessing they assumed this was coming.

Fuck this so much. It was basically the only chance people without expensive subscriptions got to watch their team. This is fucking awful and may end up killing the competition.

Why the FA cups rights going to TNT is bad

I was trying to describe myself to someone

It's normally (maybe always?) been free to air in the UK and it's our big cup domestic cup competition (oldest in the world, it's normally claimed). Our domestic leagues have been behind paywalls since the early 90s now, so the cups and international tournaments have been the only thing that fans can watch without paying an outrageous subscription price.

It looks like this TNT deal won't take it completely from free to air. The article with that tweet does explain that every round will still have free to air games and the final itself will be broadcast on free to air alongside TNT too, but you can guarantee that it will be the bland games which go to free to air. Also, when this split of paywall/FTA games have happened before, the free games don't normally go to the big terrestial channels, they go to weird digital services that people have to hunt out.

Given how expensive and how many different subcriptions you need now to watch as many games as possible (I think the Premier League alone is split across Sky, Amazon and TNT), this is just going to batter any casual interest in the FA cup. I can't see that anyone is paying for TNT, just to watch this competition.

TLDR: It's another fat "fuck you" to British football fans.

For all the fellow football manager nerds and Premier league years nostalgists, this is excellent.

Rumours that Partey is back have me feeling conflicted.

On one hand, he’s a fantastic footballer. One of the best midfielders in the PL when fit, and having him in the team properly for the first time this season will be a massive boost to our PL & CL chances.

On the other hand, fuck him. I’ve been enjoying watching my team and not seeing his face.

At least he’ll be gone in the summer.

Guardiola gets way too much of a free pass for it, plus the sending of players to the doctor in Barcelona. Haaland suddenly being freed of his injury issues the second he joins City is massively sus

    WOW.

If you know this much you should also know that Dortmund has had many issues with getting their players injured. Look at the ones we would follow as English speakers: Pulisic, Gundogan, Reyna, Haaland just off the top of my head.

Are you saying there is nothing suspicious around City since Guardiola (a proven cheater) joined? Nothing around Cugat?

I'm not denying what City does. I'm saying that Dortmund has a history of players always getting injured. There was an article about it a few years ago about the deficiencies

Guardiola teams may well use it (we basically know Barca & Real Madrid did for a while) but hasn't Haaland had minor injuries in both his PL campaigns?
