Strung Out – “New Gods” Video

Hate to be that guy but the production on these new songs is not for me.. Vocals seem to overpower everything.. Hope it does well either way, guys have produced some of my fave albums ever.

 

Agreed on all points, these first two songs haven't really been doing it for me.

I’ve been a Strung Out fan for almost 20 years, this just isn’t going it for me.

 

Disclaimer: I know nothing about audio production so apologies in advance if I'm not using the right terminology.

It may just be the Spotify stream but Jason's vocals are just really overpowering the instrumentals, and while Jason's vocals are among the best in the genre I feel like I'm listening to an isolated vocal track with music playing in the background and it just made the song fall flat for me.

I wasn't a huge fan of their last album either tbh. Transmission Alpha Delta is among their best but Armor and Devotion didn't really connect with me.

 

I missed you too man.

 

I agree with Jason's vocals being way too hot. Maybe it's just how it is for the video? Guess we'll see what the rest of the album mix is like because this song will be killer if it sounds fuller
