Chelsea genuinely play like a different team every match

recently: beat up on some Championship teams, garbage against Liverpool and Wolves, then really good against Villa in the FA Cup replay, now looking dreadful against Palace

it's like the run in November/December where they drew City 4-4, then got pumped by Newcastle, won against Brighton, then looked so bad against Man United

if i were a fan, I would be so annoyed by the lack of consistency. Poor results can be waved away if the performance on the pitch at least feels like it's building to something

 

there's a universe where Chelsea get the domestic cup double this season despite playing awfully more than half the time

 

They can play against teams who invite the press with short passes in the buildup. They struggle when they can't do that.

 

79% possession & one shot in 45 minutes is nuts

 

I honestly think Palace having 21% possession and 6 shots is even more insane

I left 22 pts on my bench in Luiz & Saliba, and have two players who got 2pts each. I'd have 110pts for the week which would be my most this season by far lol.

 

I guess I need to accept Palmer is good. He never looks impressive when I watch (admittedly don’t watch their games often). But he keeps producing so there must be something there haha
