When has there ever been a high number of workers being booked strongly at the same time? Booking should and does in AEW fluctuate giving different people their moments. I think AEW has done a pretty great job of using a wide variety of talent at the same time then adding new ones and letting others take a backseat.

Bro I just watched Big Bill be over as fuck in the main event of Dynamite last week.

Dude was a mega geek when he first got signed to AEW

but for real of course there are successes, there's also a lot of failures - a disproportionate amount to anywhere else, tbh

I'd agree if this were 2021. And, I do think they've been doing a slightly better job for the last month or so. But, I need to see them maintain it consistently before I start saying the issue is rectified.

Watching AEW in 2022 and 2023 felt like tuning in to your local indy promotion that just happened to get a TV deal. There's gonna be some stars there. They might not have anything relevant to do. They might face a legend you've heard of, or a new guy you haven't. He's not on the regular roster, though. There's some guys you want to see, cause they were doing something interesting last week, but they're just not there. Must have had another booking or something. Maybe we'll see them in a couple weeks, maybe we won't.

Some people were cool with that because the wrestling was still good, and that's totally fine. But, it definitely wasn't for me and it absolutely hurt their ability to draw crowds.

I know AEW has let some people flounder, but isn’t Joe the champ? Isn’t Swerve on the best run of anyone in the company? Big Bill is on the best run of his career. Toni Storm is doing way better than she did in WWE. I think you guys are being too harsh and not every acquisition can be a main eventer.

Continental Classic gave a platform for a bunch of guys to look dope. Fair enough about bang bang scissor gang even though I think it might end up being a stepping stone to elevating Bullet Club Gold (who had insanely great matches with FTR). But I don’t see any more people wasting away in AEW than I do WWE. What free agents that they’ve brought over are truly “lost”? Miro? Andrade? Saraya? Keith Lee maybe? Danielson and Cole have had amazing stuff to do since signing (when healthy, so I’m purposefully excluding World’s End/the Kingdom, which I think would have played out differently if Cole were healthy). Claudio looks incredible. I see a lot of people elevated by AEW but if they feel “smaller”… it’s a smaller promotion

I still think Jay White has been handled fine in AEW but that’s just me

Swerve was handled genuinely terribly for so long, so I’m glad we’re finally getting to where he needs to be. Which is both a good and bad indicator of AEW booking. Bad it took this long, good in that it was a seamless switch to him back to the main event

Not everyone that comes in is going to be immediate main eventer title contender. There’s other stories to tell

The only talent I really have an issue with their booking right now is Takeshita. Dude needs to be pushed to the moon. Also hoping getting the Trios titles off The Acclaimed will let them get that division back on track. Things are trending up for the first time in a good bit so I’m confident Okada and Merceds will be used correctly.

Yep, I mean, WWE created a seemingly new star in LA Knight and he's done way less than basically any of the top AEW guys.

I think of it more like AEW locking up their next decade. Dudes like Mox, Jericho, Christian, Danielson...all huge in giving them legitimacy and building a fanbase, but, also all of them are old, most should be retired within a couple years, and thats where we probably get a golden age of Ospreay, MJF, Hangman, Okada, etc.

I also think all these guys wrestling less is a good thing. Its why the TV matches are so good...their bump count is way down vs WWE. Mox was working 200+ matches every year in WWE, thats what he's worked since hes signed in AEW, and hes been a damn workhorse for them

Agreed, Jays been handled fine. And would certainly not have booked as silly a match at Full Gear if MJF wasnt hurt.

The Swerve/Keith Lee thing is typical of Tony not being able to pivot off an original plan, but, it was clearly intended to get Swerve over in the resulting feud (Keith just got hurt)

I feel like the only reason the Undisputed Kingdom is being judged harshly is because the best part of it is injured. If Cole was actually wrestling they’d be taken a lot more seriously.

not for me, i'm judging harshly because they finally gave Roddy, Taven, and Bennett personality and now i'm supposed to forget and think they are scary again

I’m waiting for Cole to stand up out of the wheelchair or drop the crutches to superkick somebody to reveal when he’s healthy, he’s been out ages.
