Yeah I could care less to see Jericho anymore. He’s way overused and would be much better off only being used a few times a year. In no way does he need to be a regular in AEW.

 

I don’t think WWEs “nobody is bigger than us” philosophy will ever change. Regardless of who is running things because it’s so ingrained in the company. But I think they need to start offering more when big guys hit the market and not just assume they want to play ball because they’re the biggest wrestling brand.

Styles seems like the only real outlier who hit free agency as hot as he was and actually landed a deal that made him one of the highest paid guys in the company. But there was no AEW at the time and he had already conquered literally every other promotion in the world.

 

Why? So he can lose to Roman reigns at crown jewel

 

Has Okada ever wrestled Claudio Castignoli?

He did in a tag match 3 month ago in AEW (Okada/OC VS BCC)

I think from a personal entertainment standpoint, Okada going to AEW is the least interesting of options. And I don't buy into the idea of the him not getting lost in the shuffle over there. Virtually everyone gets lost in the shuffle over there. The roster is comically large.

But for Okada the dude, I'm happy for him. He gets the lighter schedule, he gets the biggest contract. It makes sense.

 

Also feel obligated to sign up for a month of NJPW World for those last two matches at New Beginning after hearing all the hoopla.

i honestly don't know how anyone could be confident Okada will be used well when Jay White has had the last three months he has had

this show hadn't popped up anywhere for me as of last night i am determined to hunt it down

 

Yeah, I almost brought that up. I realize Okada and White are on different levels, but I still think it's a poignant comparison. AEW's track record with big name free agent signings is like, one of their biggest Achilles heels.

Either the promotion that "mistreated" them is proven right, or AEW fumbles just as hard as the last guy. That's kind of been the cycle. Almost everyone they bring in feels like significantly less of a star than they did when they showed up.
