How's the energy system holding up there? Seems like the drone and missile strikes are now focusing more on military assets, versus energy infrastructure. There should be enough missile defense spread throughout the country to prevent most major sites from being hit.

I did. I read the whole substack and the article linked at the end and I'm trying to engage with the ideas presented by it in good faith. My question is in regards to this section of what Mearsheimer said:

"Putin launched a limited attack into Ukraine for the purpose of coercing Zelensky into abandoning Kyiv’s policy of aligning with the West and eventually bringing Ukraine into NATO."

What, specifically, about Russia's invasion into Ukraine in February 2022 was limited?

I read the entire thing a few times. Some of what he is saying there sounds very nice but has no basis in reality or facts. Even his own "in short" summary doesn't fit with his larger explanation of what had transpired. Failure to achieve your objectives does not mean that your objectives were limited in the first place, only that you failed to achieve them. It's not a retroactive thing.

Let’s negotiate with this sweet lady. Ruined buildings, ruined lives, but… should we really care about Nazi Ukrainians? Cmon, she’s just trying to hustle. If you are true antifascist from ruzzia AND wanna become a landlord, why not buy real estate in Mariupol? It’s cheaper than ever! All details in the video.

Sacking Zaluzhniy right now looks like a huge mistake to me, especially if Zelenskyy is doing it because of his popularity and the rumors of his political aspirations. If he does go ahead and do it, I would have to / like to think he is doing so for other, more strategic reasons. Militarily strategic as opposed to politically strategic I mean.

I don't think it'll change much on the ground, as long as there's still a delay to US assistance

he is very popular with the armed forces and just in general, and this is an extremely precarious time.

Avdiivka is kind of the same situation of Bakhmut right now, where it appears Ukr are trying to keep a hold of the cities for as long as possible, in order to destroy as much Russian units as possible, only pulling out once they realize their presence in the city is no longer tenable. The last several months Ukr forces have been destroying/killing more Russian units than ever since the start of the war ('cause Russia is consistently on the offensive in several areas), but lately Russia has stepped up their "replenishment rate" of vehicles/artillery and manpower. Then with the lack of US aid for several months now, this hasn't allowed the Ukrainians to match that increased replenishment rate Russia has achieved. So Ukr units are holding for now, but its very tough. Recently both France and Germany have pledged increased munitions in the near term, and with the recently approved $50 billion in aid from the EU (which will support all non-military parts of the Ukr economy; absolutely crucial this happened), these actions "should" allow Ukr forces to hold out juuuust long enough for US aid when its finally approved. Syrsky seems like an intelligent general, who puts top emphasis on using high-tech munitions, so he seems like a logical choice to handle things going forward. Ukr has been hitting more and more Russian oil and gas infrastructure, which has led to huge drops in gas exports, along with various weapon/munition factories, which won't necessarily impact the near-term, but in the long-term could be devastating.
