Matt Skiba joined Mark Hoppus on the latest episode of his After School Radio show.

That’s exactly how I feel. Everything is where it should be. I had an incredible time with blink. I’m honoured to have been a part of the band. I’m proud of the work we did together. I had such a blast touring with you guys and I feel like the time came where Tom came back and it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly or more amicably. When I do interviews, people always want this dirt that doesn’t exist. It’s all love man. We really had a great time. These guys found their way back to each other and it’s what fans want, it is what the band needs. As far as Alkaline Trio is concerned, that’s my home and my family and when I was with blink that was my home and my family. But the time came and I feel like all is right in our respective and collective worlds.

I’ll always love the Skiba era records. Saw them twice live and it was a killer show.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

California was peak Blink IMO. It was catchy, fast and the perfect summer record. Neighborhoods was dull and Tom obv didn't want to be there. I really don't know what else the fans wanted and why it gets so much hate

I thought California had some incredible songs, doubly so when you lump in the extended edition. I really didn’t enjoy Nine at all, but then again I didn’t like One More Time… very much at all past the first two songs either. I respect and appreciate Skiba’s approach with and perspective in hindsight on his time in Blink. Dude is a professional through and through, and I’m really happy that everyone is on good terms.

California was generic as hell. Boring guitar work and bland vocal melodies.

Counterpoint: Cynical, Rabbit Hole, The Only Thing That Matters, Parking Lot. Those songs are all fun as hell.

I agree. I get some of the production complaints but I love that album.

    this is all there is

Only vaguely actually related to this thread, but this cover album made me like Neighborhoods a lot more when I couldn't get into it back in the day:
