im just sitting here hoping Firefly Festival isnt completely dead in the water

 

I definitely won’t be able to go if this any later than July, so selfishly I hope that’s not the case lol

 

As an attendee I wouldn't buy a ticket until the week of since that's peak hurricane season. But if that were to be announced I'd def grab a refundable hotel just in case!

 

I'd imagine mid-to-late September won't be happening. Sea Hear now is usually in the middle of the month (last year it was the weekend of 9/16), so assuming they stick with that general timeframe it would be the weekend 9/14. Riot Fest is the following weekend. Which doesn't completely rule it out but would definitely take out some potential heavy-hitters (as well as a chunk of attendees).

Labor Day could work, though...

 

Someone pointed out that Firefly recently updated all of their socials to say "Thank you for 10 wonderful years." Kinda feels like they're saying goodbye.
A shame, Firefly was the closest the northeast got to a Coachella/Bonnaroo.

 

It's wild how many people from the Northeast fly to Chicago for Riot Fest almost every year. Last year was one of the first years I hadn't in a while, & didn't primarily because I went to Adjacent

 

Friends I'll be so straight up here I don't think this festival is happening again

 

Somewhere out there John D is saying that Adjacent was a failure.

 

Yeah, just assuming that it's DOA, but very happy it happened. Would honestly prefer that it's not coming back in September because I'm already doing SO much in the fall between Furnace, WWWY, and the film festival circuit.

 

Still bummed they aren't doing this again. I wish they would have just come out and say that it isn't happening instead of total silence. Though I guess it's possible they have been (and still could be) actively trying to make it happen behind the scenes but it just isn't coming to fruition

 

I’m still choosing to believe they’re moving this to September and are gonna try and catch Riot Fest acts the weekend before on their tour routes. A boy can dream!

Four Chord & Sad Summer both haven't been announced yet, I'm holding out hope.

 

MCS accidently leaked the Four Chord poster last week and its shaping up pretty great. Makes me wonder if some of those acts are part of Sad Summer too.

 

I was curious of that too. The ??? makes me think some of the Neck Deep tour bands are involved, but I don't know?

 

Can confirm as fact now, in November hotels in AC were told adjacent fest would be taking place May 27th and 28th 2024, and the Wild West would be once again hosting the after show parties. What happened between then and now, I have no idea.

 

Surely they weren’t planning on holding this on a Monday and Tuesday…

Oh well, holding out hope this makes a comeback in 2025
