My favorite part is they are making the exact same mistakes they made when they were trying to get Roman over the first time. That WM33 match with Taker that nobody asked for...main eventing over their Rumble winner who got shunted off into a lesser match. WM34 with Brock inexplicably retaining. At least during that run Brock had fun matches with people.

And the fallout is gonna be the same; how many dudes (AJ, KO, Sami, etc) did absolutely nothing meaningful for 2-3 years during that run that nearly cratered the company? And now we're again looking at WWE having like 6-7 dudes who could be the top guy whose best outcome is maybe a multi-man mid-card ladder match

 

TKO technically doesn't have a chairman of the board right now. Wonder of DJ's ultimate play here is essentially to take Vince's spot (maybe not the executive part)

 

I know a lot of people hate him, but Conrad Thompson is roasting this situation on Twitter lol Pointing out that Rock is only coming back after his TV show got cancelled, his last few movies have absolutely bombed and his football league folded. Basically he is only doing this because he needs to regain momentum and could care less about the WWE fans/product. The Rock using Vince’s situation to completely railroad the entire story that Cody/Roman have been building is just as bad as anything Hogan has done as far as politics go. I hope the Philly crowd absolutely loses their shit on him.

 

“Make money now” as if WM wasn’t already near sell out and making record sales. WWE is so hot business wise they don’t even need Rock beyond breaking pointless social media records.

edit: not to mention how over so much of their talent are that fans would be happy with what they have.

 

like mentioned above the Rock is only back because he as a movie star and a product is ice cold.

 

Idk that I believe that Rock wants to be in charge of a wrestling company. I do believe he’s trying to rehab his image. But dude wants to be president of the United States, not the WWE

this does make a lot of sense. If the match ever made sense to happen it was last year with Mania being in LA. Not sure of the timing of the last few movie flops for him (don’t think Black Adam was out yet?) but he’s certainly seizing the opportunity due to the Vince horrorshow.

And if you want to get REAL conspiratorial, one could certainly make the case that as one of Vince’s favorites from the attitude era that he probably knows a bunch of shit and was there ever anything that explained why the latest news came out when it did? And to be clear - the stories are 100% true and I believe every horrid word of what has been released, but was the timing ever identified for how/why it was released when it was?

 

you start with WWE and then after a year or so he runs for office (or in this case, 2-3 years to run in 2028). Kind of like that guy did in Billions.

It all stinks like shit. Having your own creative come in. Trying to assert your guys into the companies creative. And Endeavor willing to lay it at his feet because he raises his eyebrow and it did 50 million Twitter impressions or some shit. Idk it’s not good

 

Unless there’s a real feeling that Endeavor is going to have to clean house due to the lawsuit and remove a lot of people.

 

With how close Vince is to Triple H and how easy it was for Rock to potentially have creative in the future, I wonder if there is some worry within TKO that things will come out about Triple H in the lawsuit. It’d be an easy way to prepare for a transition of creative.
