i think AEW and WWE really need to look at how they are doing a terrible job at engendering loyalty w their rosters, like Cody just did the company's PR for them off the cuff at a horrible time for them. WWE had a chance to make future AEW jumps very appealing, and so far they have blueballed Cody fans for two years and kept Jade off TV as a way to throw shade at the AEW method of talent development. now AEW is in a spot where dudes are mad because non-OGs are getting so much time. it creates a perception that the only way to succeed in 2024 is to go back in time and be over in the Attitude Era

Brian Gewirtz will be DJ's representative and potentially a plan B if they need to pivot to a DJ backed creative team.

There's open discussion about unifying the titles at SummerSlam as Cody is seemingly still the long term plan for top babyface

 

I know I’m overthinking this and the common fan won’t care or do any history watching but very comical that they allegedly want to do this to “save Mania” and take the heat off the Vince story by bringing in The Rock… who became a huge star while Vince was at his absolutely most screenhogging and character-worst on the shows along with the worst era of exploiting women in wrestling to boot. Yeah, great way to get everyone to forget about Vince when the majority of Rock segments during his heyday usually had Vince involved or at least had him in tv almost weekly oh and hey, there’s Trish Stratus being told to strip and crawl around and bark like a dog and a bikini pudding match or some shit.

Thanks WWE, this definitely makes me forget about Vince when inquisitive younger fans wonder who this constantly sweating Hulk shows up in the ring and search him out on the network.
