I see a lot of smaller bands and they usually play longer than 60 minutes. 75 is usually the minimum for a closer with some exceptions like only having one album.

I saw Turnstile headline last year and they played like just over 40 minutes. It was great

Yea I mean I would agree that 75 is a comfortable range for a catalog like SLS. When you get to 90 you are pushing bands that have a 5-7 deep catalog and usually there’s some level of “stage show” with the performance. That’s just based on what I’ve seen in the past. Bands like The Wonder Years and The Hold Steady are at 90-100 minute sets. So really we are debating over 15 minutes of tunes here most likely.

Listened to the latest by Oso Oso today. Not really seeing a match in vibe. Maybe it will click with more listens but I can’t understand much of the lyrics.

Oso Oso is a sneaky band for me. I’ve never been blown away by them and usually just find them pleasant. But I find my self going back to their albums so much that they are one of the artists I’ve listened to the most in the last decade. Their songs might not wow you but instead will slowly worm their way into your brain and not let go

    D'oh! Prestigious

Their latest is a bit different as it was made from unfinished songs; left as they were (iirc) when their bandmate passed away, so obviously that's a sad scenario and on top of that can be harder to grasp for new listeners - pretty sure you can find lots of cool hit songs sprinkled around their whole discography, to my mind it's definitely a good match

These guys (OSO OSO) opened for somebody I like in the past few years on tour and I can't for the life of me remember who. Against Me? Menzingers? Does anyone know what "bigger" bands they have opened for in the past?

And by bigger I mean it was still a reasonably small club show.....

I saw them open for Tiny Moving Parts in 2018 and Microwave in 2023

They opened for the Menzingers 2021 I think, and The Wonder Years pre COVID

They opened for Manchester Orchestra and Foxing on the METN tour and for The Front Bottoms many years ago.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

I was going to say that they opened for The Wonder Years, so this pairing makes decent sense.

Got my ticket for Philly. Ticketmaster was using "all in" pricing so there was no jumpscare at checkout. $37, which isn't awful I suppose for a Live Nation venue.

My date is on my bf's birthday but he doesn't listen to the band. I don't wanna be like "happy birthday to you, let's do what I want to do!" So I'm trying to calculate my odds of playing them more around the house so he can turn into a fan organically and I can be like "happy birthday! Concert tickets!... totally for you and not me."
