He came in the door and within 6 months was running with Nash, Hall and HBK. 2 of them leave, he takes the heat and recovers to become a big star. Then marries the owners daughter. I had missed the women’s rumble and went back and watched. wtf was up with Cole and the antlers

 

Thought that was a much better show than a lot of the Internet seems to. I think it was definitely the best women's Rumble to date. The two matches in between were fine, but certainly weren't great. Men's Rumble was good, not great. The final four sequence was a lot of fun. I'm glad they just went with Cody straight up. It's the story they need to tell.

Presser stuff was gross. Hunter handled that about as poorly as one could. Tony Khan in a furry hat levels of dog shit.

You're misremembering, he had the WHC title match against Bryan as the first match of the main card but won it in 18 seconds.

He did have a pre-show match with Bryan for the US title on the Mania before that and it got turned into a random battle royal lol
