Roman's endless title reign is the biggest hinderance to the product. They have multiple guys waiting to become stars just because they can't win the world title. I know they've made the effort to make the midcard belts mean something but fans are never going to perceive them as anything more than that.

With few exceptions, winning a world title does not make you a star. Jimmy, Drew, Sami, and Cody all definitely increased their star status through their roman feuds and while they might not all be quite as big stars as they were during their matches with Roman... I'm not convinced any of them would necessarily be in a much better place today if they had won their matches than they are now.

It does help to be in the title picture though. And so it helps to have your title belt defended more than three times a year. There is also something to be said about how if say, Sami and Drew were feuding for the world title that would leave more room on the card for others to establish themselves.

But I feel like if you're a wrester and you're waiting for a world title win to become a star... you're in for a bad time

Man HHH answers when asked about Vince are such BS. He would have been better saying no comment rather than circle jerking about their success when asked about a sexual abuser than ran his company the last 35 years. I know I shouldn’t expect much, but fuck that noise.

 

lol I was just looking at the results on wikipedia and seeing the brand split.. who the fuck does Smackdown even have on their roster? Only 7 entrants, including Carlito, Kross, Waller and Theory who were some of the blandest wrestlers in the ring.

Are all the guys in the other matches Smackdown people or something?

 

One of your top guys shouldn’t have an infinitely better answer than the person running the show lol

They have more stars that people care about now but it‘s getting to the point where there’s nothing to fight over with Smackdown’s two main champions only showing up on TV once a month.

The "what are you doing to prevent this in the future" one was really good too; and he could have so easily answered that one with details like Cody did.
