What other Mania matches did this set up? We getting Drew/Sami? Are we getting Bayley/Rhea or are they doing a Damage CNTRL breakup angle and do Bayley/Iyo?

The brand is hot, but in ring wise is still pretty average. The average WWE fan goes for the experience and doesn’t care about in ring stuff as much. They all want to do chants, sing and could care less about actual wrestling lol

 

Yeah, I mean, the first half of Worlds End was probably on par with this PPV in terms of being blah, but then it delivered 3 straight sick matches with great angles.

This PPV delivered absolutely nothing

Jimmy/Jey
Drew/Sami
KO/Paul

 

Jade & Stratton were the standouts for me.

 

Drew/Sami, KO/Logan I'd assume, Bayley/Iyo seems obvious. Theoretically they hinted around Jade Cargill/Nia if they wanted to run a womens ARMBAR.

edit: Yeah, and Jimmy/Jey obviously

 

There’s a route to Sami getting a WHC shot through Priest/Drew but I’m not getting my hopes up.

You’re right, but they’ve booked Roman through the entire roster on both shows at this point and unified the belts / created a new title that’s on Rollins to have a present and fighting champion… he’s written into a corner at this point (especially with all the Bloodline interference finishes).

Can Bron really just walk on in and dethrone a monster of that magnitude? They would have to build him beyond belief on the main roster

 

guess that explains why they are still pushing someone as boring as cody huh lol

 

I mean, Sami was there last year, as was Cody. Booking wise, yes.

I dont think Bron's the dude, but, if its not Cody, then its gotta be a young guy that can be THAT dude, cause otherwise they're back in 2015 with no heir apparent and real risk of falling off.

anyways glad I can spend another year not caring about mania and just go back and watch some standout matches. Also women's rumble was still fun minus too much Nia!

I got confused for a second and assumed it was a WWE backstage interviewer for a second.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if they have some plants in this crowd to avoid the obvious questions

Sami was insanely over with the crowd, when the Bloodline story was actually on fire… LA Knight is similarly over atm but they already fed him to Roman (arguably too early, but it raised his profile).

If not Cody then all hope is truly lost for a “believable” win?

Yeah, but Sami was also a nobody 6 months before he got hot. LA Knight was in MMM about 6 months before getting hot.

Just saying anyone could technically fill the role if they got red hot.

 

And that man is Baron Corbin

 

Sure, they can book someone else to get a title opportunity against Roman. But will they actually be able to book anyone to care? They've done the same "lol Roman's goons help him win" bullshit so many different times now with so many different wrestlers that people just feel like idiots for thinking its going to be any different, and so people stop caring.

Need to get the belt off Roman ASAP. Doesn't matter how they do it. Just get the belt off him so people can start caring about title matches again.
