  1. Ronald.

    House of Protect Ron.

  2. Indie store variant - I canceled my tri color preorder a few weeks ago once I saw this because I think it matches the album art perfectly

This is kind of a silly comment because it’s literally them, but Break is such an Alkaline Trio song.

Songs are just great. Scars is one of my favorites. But...why do their guitars always sounds so muddled?

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Spun it on my lunch today and wow you’re all right, this thing rips. Really like the riffy direction they took. A lot of this stuff teeters on the side of post hardcore, I think. Super cool!

What makes ALK3 so great is how they manage to balance a fine line of consistency and creativity. There’s a lot of new stuff they brought to the table on this one, but it sounds like classic ALK3. Their sound remains the same, yet different. If that makes sense?

Also, to echo some sentiments in here, I think Broken Down In A Time Machine is my fave off this one for sure

Since I started the balding discussion -

I’m literally somewhere in the middle.
Not really balding at 33 but certainly never had a greatest hairline.

    y’all welcome.

I have such giant, magnificent, flowing and salt and pepper curly hair that the only downside of it all is it being attached to my hatchet face.

I have no words for how great this album is. So happy my favorite band is still delivering the goods this deep in their career.

I wonder if this is weird for Derek seeing this all come out and not being in any of the promo for the album he played on. I hope he is doing well, he’s one of my fav drummers in the scene. If anyone was going to replace him, Atom is the absolute perfect choice, I will miss him playing though!

This album is soooo good. They’re coming to town next month and it’s really making me want to go, I’ve never seen them before

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

apparently Dan said on some podcast that he sung Bad Time originally before they gave it to Matt. wild stuff, I can't imagine it any other way

I said before and I’ll say it again….This new album is a perfect mix of Good Mourning and Crimson. They killed it on this.

the lyrics are just so Skiba haha. unless it fully had a different set of lyrics with Dan singing in which case I need them to drop that on a b-side immediately if not sooner

He probs reworked it a bit, because I agree, I would be surprised to hear Dan sing about “Latin royalty” haha

This album makes me want to write a post as long as Jason's One More Time essay

Yeah the lyrics on Bad Time are definitely purely Skiba. They did the same thing with Blackbird on the last album. Dan wrote the song and originally had completely different lyrics.

The Bad Time lyrics straight up originated from when there was a mass shooting in El Paso when Matt was on tour with blink, they couldn't be any more specifically Matt lol, he detailed all of them when they released the song

If you're gonna go, than go. But go with caution.
If you're gonna leave, than leave them holding the bag.

How he sings that is perfect

Halfway through listen number two. And I really enjoy this.

I’m still disappointed in their choices for the production / mix. But the songs are really good. Really love that they embraced dual vocals on so many tracks.
