Gaslight Anthem was the only band that played both last year for whatever it's worth.

Ohana announces soon. I know there’s been some overlap of the two fests in the past. Curious to see the lineup

Looks like LCD is out. They’re playing four nights in Chicago in late May.

I wasn't that into it at Pitchfork.

Did they misspell Patti Smith or is there really a Patty Smith?

I’m glad someone else caught that too. I was wondering the same thing

American Football playing the UK the week before Riot playing LP1 in full. That would be a great get for Riot

I've been waiting for this one for some time. I feel like it would have happened by now if it was wanted.

Also amusing that they've seemingly played more UK shows than US shows since starting back up last year.

this is 25 years so would make sense if they did. that being said, they can do this at lincoln hall (or so two/three nights at schubas) and make more money. if im them, this is a show you do on your own in chicago. i do think theyll do a 10/12 or so shows in the US for it though.

No, Patty Smyth sang in the early 80s pop group Scandal, their biggest songs were "The Warrior" & "Goodbye to You" - she's married to John McEnroe

Agreed. Or depending on what Pygmalion looks like this year playing that instead.

That would be my guess, too, but it's downsized in recent years so who knows.

No doubt is getting 10 million to perform at Coachella and outside of those performances they have no interest in doing a major tour. On top of that Gwen has a bunch of her own stuff lineup up for the 2nd half of 2024

And here's the article that breaks it all down! Pretty wild payday for them. I gotta be honest, though, most of these "clearly for the money" reunions are never all that great.

The article also makes it seem like Coachella may be one of the only Sublime (as opposed to "Sublime with Rome") performances for 2024. But the door's open... I honestly don't know how much, or how little, people in general really care at this point. I have some friends who are really into that band and had no idea this was even happening.

Also: Now that we know what the price tag on a Talking Heads reunion is... We can just start laughing people out of the room who suggest them as a Riot Fest possibility, right?

I thought the general consensus on the Talking Heads was that they really still can't stand each other and wouldn't want to tarnish the legacy of the band by performing reunions while still not enjoying the time with each other. They can get together for certain things but that's about it.

I think Sublime could still be possible since they have announced another show. But I think you are definitely right about No Doubt (and Talkinf Heads obviously).

I’ll be pissed if we get Red Hot Chili Peppers or something like that…

Have we gotten to February without really having a clue who any of the 3 headliners are?

I can’t put my finger on what it is, but something about the No Doubt reunion just seems kind of off?… Like, it’s weird to me that they’re reuniting for two shows, and then everyone’s going back to their respective projects after that. This reunion is such a huge deal, so it feels like it should last longer. It’s like a huge fire that is immediately stoked out.

Re: Sublime. I was under the impression that they would be doing more shows and possibly new music once the reunion was announced. I didn’t think there would be more gigs from them until next year, but now they’re playing that show in Orlando in April. Sublime and Sublime With Rome playing gigs simultaneously is hurting my head…
