We've talked about it in the thread, but I'll just view as having a perfect 2 season arc vs being cancelled. Though the creator disagrees and is ready for more. I really enjoyed the ending as it was, and personally don't need more and would be worried about the direction, but I would still watch it. It was a great blend of humor, heart, slap stick, zaniness, satire and had a great artful flair to it. Not many shows juggle so much and pull it all off.

 

Oh weird this is produced by Paramount and was originally slated to be a Showtime series. Wonder why they gave it to Netflix.

i lost interest in season one and never finished it but i saw it had a big following online so was surprised it got canceled.

 

I've heard so many good things about Hit Man, can't believe it's that far away!

In my experience people who are newer tend to do a better job at stuff like that. They're less burned out, jaded, and set in their ways. And less of the arrogance of "blah blah I have been here forever I know what I'm doing." I almost teared up when they described their meeting each other for the first time after it all happened. If cops were more like that maybe people would be less acab-y!

 

Lol in fairness, the doc does highlight like 900 cops who blew it first before she showed up so the acab-yness is pretty fair

 

And for some reason most of them had food names lol

 

I just about teared up as well at that part. When she says "All I wanted was someone in law enforcement to call a hero" is a lovely moment because they finally get to meet, but it's also heartbreaking because it just reinforces how shitty the majority of law enforcement was throughout the entire ordeal.

acab refers to the American system of policing which is inherently racist, sexist, and classist so you can’t be “good” and be a participant enforcing that system. So yes cops can be nice and do a good job for one person but eventually they’re arresting someone for bullshit reasons or throwing a family out of their home for a wealthy landlord
