Definitely going to get into DCC and I appreciate the politeness of spoiler tags. I have heard good things from a variety of sources I trust including all you good people in here. I think it'll be nice to break up my rereads of longer, chunkier series.

I was at the gym during this and caught myself multiple times just staring blankly ahead instead of lifting.

Does it make you laugh out loud as much as it did for me? NEWWWWWWWWWW ACHIEVEMENT!

took a bit of a non-genre break but i'm back in starting of war and ruin. liked the series a lot up until now but this one's such a page turner even only like 15% in or something, everything is finally fully clicking - plot is heating up and flowing well between the viewpoints, falling for many of the characters, good action. cannot wait to dive deeper into this, still haven't even seen my boy dayne.

For the Malazan fans, The Broken Binding have revealed the cover art for Gardens of the Moon for their full series hardcover run starting this Summer. High level of this run is they are doing 3 at a time with new dust cover art by Felix Ortiz, and they will be putting the Marc Simonetti art from the French Editions directly on the boards themselves.

And if you're interested, sign this doc so they can gauge how much they are going to need to print.
Malazan Book of the Fallen - Interest Check

You do not need to be a subscriber but subscribers get presale priority. This isn't a numbered run so I'm assuming they're doing a significant run depending on the interest in the form.

Not fantasy, more historical fiction, but I decided to give the Last Kingdom series a try. I chanced upon the show a year or so ago and fell absolutely in love and couldn't believe that a show nearly as good as Game of Thrones flew completely under my radar the entirety of its run.

My TBR list is extremely long, but I was going through it and having trouble deciding what to tackle next. Usually I have my next read (or two) lined up well before I finish what I'm currently reading, but not this time. On a whim I decided to go back and finally attempt a series I missed out on at the time it was released but have always been curious about: The Prince of Nothing by R. Scott Bakker. I was a voracious reader back when the series was originally published, being young and single and with much more free time, and I remember being very intrigued by everything that I read and heard about it, but I had also always heard that it can be a little dense and difficult to follow.

I just picked up the first book from the library and I'm gonna dive in. Wish me luck.

Hell yeah! One of the all time best.

It is dense and challenging (of course equally as rewarding), but I will say that the way the story is set up, you are eased into the world pretty slowly, and don't have to keep track of any dueling story threads early on. Which is me attempting to be vague.

Currently beta-reading book 2 in Joao Silva's The Smokesmiths - Thorns of War - but i'd like to recommend book 1 - Seeds of War. It's got an incredible world, unique magic system and a lot of lore that I know i'm really intrigued with myself.

Also, still reading Disquiet Gods, albeit slowly. I love Sun Eater.

Two brilliant series. Of War and Ruin is a chonky book but one of my favourites. The Exile and The Ice are brilliant novellas too.

I haven't got the ARC of Disquiet Gods since i'm still on Kingdoms of Death but i'm excited to keep going!

It's just the best. And there has to be so much more to go, now that we've settled into a floor a book structure. Also you were talking about laugh out loud moments, I find myself giggling every time I read Donut's ALL CAPS texts. I know that wouldn't translate to the audio format, but you know it's happening since it (reasonably) pisses Carl off so much.

it translates to text because the narrator screams it. I laugh every single time.
