I need to really dig into the lyrics on IB if it has any hope of affecting me the way Damage did.

 

I love that song! I've made a custom equalizer setting JUST for this album to make these songs a bit more dynamic and it really helps How'd You Have Me shine.

 

seems like a lot of people have very limited distance between what places last and what places first for them, which i find interesting and speaks to their enjoyment of JEW's entire catalogue (or close enough to entire).

for me though, there's:

two really good JEW albums: Futures and Chase This Light

two good albums: Bleed American and Clarity

one okay album: Invented

one bad album: Damage

right now, after having Integrity Blues for a whole 72 hours, in which i've listened to it maybe 5 times so clearly that's the best time to rank it compared to other albums we've had for years, i'd label it as "good" at this moment in time.

 

Yep. It definitely feels like one of their most "complete" records to me. It all holds together so well as an album.

"I Will Steal You Back" has always sounded muddy to me. That's really the only song where I have much issue with the production.

On the topic of rankings, I'd rank Pol Roger near the bottom of their closers. I love this album so far but that track is not doing it for me whatsoever.

 

i pronounce "pol roger" correctly when i say it out loud but for some reason when i read it in my head online i always pronounce it as in the name "roger" haha.

I don't know why I didn't think to buy some Pol Roger before listening to the album for the first time. I could have been riding a good buzz by the time the album reached the song, and it would have been so great.
