It's cool they spent more than 30 seconds on the lyrics this time. Bobby Sox rules.

This is probably the most i’ve enjoyed an album from these guys since AI. The bar was so low though.

  3. That Bobby Sox video is really sweet.

You're right, it's flipped now. I realized I hadn't looked at the Blink show in a while (mainly because I already have tickets for that one) and so the idea I had in my head is simply outdated.

For what it's worth, resale numbers appear to be quite lopsided in favor of Blink - almost double in some places. I'm guessing that has to do with slightly lower prices in the bowl areas.

After a 2nd listen I agree. Although I do like Father To A Son, the last two tracks, while not bad, do nothing for me.

I love this whole thing so much. It seemed like ever since AI they were either trying too hard (21st) or not hard enough (cough trilogy/FOAM cough). Kind of lost what made Green Day, Green Day.

Now let's all rank the new ones from blink tbs GD and alkaline :)

I do not like Bobby Sox at all, scratching my head at the love for that one. Reserving judgment on the whole album until another listen or two

I didn't like it much at first too but the music video helped a ton.

  9. That one feels impossible to dislike to me, but again, it sounds like W****r and I'm a big W****r fan, so

Weak verses, for sure. I like the chorus, though.

Imagine that BJA was depressed during COVID and struggling and his friend Rivers Cuomo reached out and gave him this riff-tastic song featuring lyrics about ionic bonds, Engelbert Humperdink, a girl, and vegetable biryani and then BJA rewrote the lyrics to be about innocent/youthful bisexual love and that is what gave him the push to get back on the creative horse.

This is a lot of fun. I might actually have to splurge on tickets for the Portland show. Never been to a stadium show, but would be a great chance to see GD, SP and Rancid for the first time. Stacked lineup that is definitely worth the the $210 tickets.

Bobby Sox is openly bi so I would have to like it even if it was bad rules are rules

Grandma's on the fentanyl now will probably be the worst lyric of the year sorry Billy Joe

Statistically, that lyric should resonate with a good amount of Americans. :tear:

Made me like the song more.

All the music videos for this album have been pretty good too.

I don't remember which song it was but there was one with a guitar riff in the verses sounded so strongly of Pink's "So What" I was majorly distracted.

Only moment that stands out as a negative for me on a first listen

Do or do not, there is no try.

I either like or love everything on this. Very happy fan.

The title track is growing on me, but I otherwise agree it fades a bit toward the end. Feels like it maybe should have been a "no slow songs/ballads" album.

I dig Fancy Sauce. The switch from crazy to famous in the chorus is pretty fun/satisfying.

Every closer of theirs since "Whatsername" is a little disappointing to me, because they proved they could deliver an all-timer in the finale slot and have not done so since.
