There's a local kinda more upscale diner down the street that we love (Wiger talks about it on Doughboys often). It's a really nice place that has the best pies I've ever had, makes all their stuff from scratch, is insanely affordable, all their food is great, except they can't make good fries to save their lives. They're the same frozen fries that all the burger places use (Tam's, Tom's, Louis', etc.) which could be fine because those places do them well, but they're always way undercooked and never seasoned, it's insane how bad they are compared to everything else they do.

Beijing beef over orange chicken (at panda express). There are better chicken dishes there including the teriyaki, the black pepper and the kung pao.

IDK how steak fries got the name steak fries, but they're rarely good, if ever. Most places that serve fries with a steak, aka steak frites, have thinner style fries like fast food size or shoestring. Those are the best fries to eat with a steak, thankfully.

I've reheated steak fries in the oven with a little oil and seasoned salt and had them turn out crispy and great

 

Red Robin fries well done are the best steak fries.

 

I always thought I loved red robin fries but when my bf forgot to get campfire sauce they were so sad. So while their fries aren't bad, they're really just vessels for campfire sauce and their seasoning salt

 

Steak fries are fine but I will always prefer shoestring/fast food fries. Except Burger King fries, those are just fucking depressing

 

Battered fries suck so I take back my statement that all fries are good

It's Rally's here and I feel like it's the literal bottom of the barrel when it comes to fast food. I don't know if I'll ever willingly eat there again.

 

I had Checker's when they had one at a rest stop on the NY Thruway but I remember absolutely nothing about it

haven’t had Checker’s in many years but I remember it being either very gross or just incredible – no in between. think it all has to do with how hungry (&/or stoned) you are when you eat it

 

I don't understand the checkers and sonic model where you have to eat it in cars, am I Fred Flintstone
