Only stinker on my first listen was
“Corvette Summer”

kinda gives me FOAM flashbacks but not as bad

 

Coma City was the obvious low to me. Not a terrible song but I really do not like the “coma city” vocal track.

 

I usually hate songs about rock n’ roll, but I think I’m softening to them in my old age, or maybe this one is just good.

 

Coma City reminds me of the Sonic Heroes soundtrack

Weezer did not pop into my head once while listening.

 

Something semi-interesting and non-Weezer related: near the end of his WTF interview, BJA confirms that they made a distinct fashion choice and fashion change for the band to coincide with their musical change for AI. Noting as that point was somewhat controversial on this forum, as some folks were suggesting both the musical and fashion changes after Warning were non-remarkable and not intentionally meaningful.

 

I don't think anyone said it wasn't "intentionally meaningful." They obviously had a visual style they were going for on that album, and their fashion corresponded to it. I think the pushback was to people saying they sold out because they changed their clothes.

 

After I saw the news about the album plays, I checked if any more tickets had been sold to the Nashville show. Turns out they lowered the prices for a bunch of lower level sections. I ended up buying two new better seats for less than the original pair I bought. Now I just gotta hope I can sell these other tickets.

 

Not commenting on it but I do think it's very interesting that there's almost zero mention of Green Day in Where Are Your Boys Tonight, given you could argue they either co-opted or inspired a ton of the visuals of that era.

 

I was wondering if they made the announcement because tickets weren’t moving, but I haven’t looked at any of the sales/venues.

 

I don’t know what this means and I don’t think I’ll sleep until I do.
