I’m happily holding out until release day. My old ass is too old to seek out leaks instead of just waiting for it to hit Apple Music

Surprised Rivers hasn’t incorporated it yet. It rhymes perfectly with both “heavy metal” and “ecumenical.”

Fentanyl sounds like a third generation nu-metal band that just missed getting signed and subsequently dropped by Roadrunner.

Six songs in this is way better than Rev Radio. So far, it’s firmly in the fun Green Day pocket whereas Rev Radio was weirdly both more aggressive and also lighter than this IMO. We’ll see how the back 9 changes these too early words.

Do or do not, there is no try.

The fact they are playing Dookie and AI in full on their 2024 tour means I’m going to have to drag my ass to an outdoor gig. I hate outdoor gigs/fields. Too good an opportunity to miss though, both seminal albums for me.

Just finished my first listen. Wow. Incredible album. So many thoughts but first: Mike and Tre absolutely slayed on this album. Some of my favorite bass parts since pre-AI.

and yeah, “Goodnight Adeline” is the one. Instant top tier GD track.

The Corvette Summer chorus is a nice little earworm.

Pretty sure that song was written for those of us in the Vinyl thread here.

Just finished my first listen. I like it! Not a song I don’t like, even the weaker ones, I found something I like enough to keep it on the positive side. Really nice to hear a new Green Day album I enjoy. I have always liked RevRad, but I think I can say I will like this one more as time goes on.

My favs that stood out to me the most on this initial listen.
    -Dilema
    -1981
    -Goodnight Adeline
    -Corvette Summer
    -Suzie Chapstick
-Strange Days Are Hete To Stay
    -Fancy Sauce

I feel like this could have followed up Warning without people needing the context of AI. It has enough of a spiritual tether to Warning and the eclectic vibe of Nimrod to make sense. I think.

Damn, "Bobby Sox" rips. Really love how punchy the production is on this record.

  23. "Bobby Sox" is 100% a Weezer song and that's a good thing. Also a bi anthem, hell yeah

Genius Lyrics say it’s about two people, like a back and forth.

But knowing Billie Joe, it being one person singing makes more sense.
