aaah, that part in She Sustains Us where the female vocalist comes in... so damn good

 

does anyone with the physical copy/liner notes know if it mentions who sings each song? i can parse most of the songs together but there are a few i'm unsure about

 

Yeah I can't differentiate between the voice most of the time tbh

She's the same one from the last record

 

i still havnt listened to Hoodwink'd

 

it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the guitarist who does pain and the other two but those two have fairly similar voices

She Sustains Us is so good

 

Hoodwink'd is a lot of fun and has some catchier songs for sure but i like this way more

 

they're stylistically pretty different, this feels brought more into almost the built to spill realm as opposed to the last one which lent more to twee pop and the like

 

i actually kinda feel the opposite. the "pain" singer seems very BtS influenced and that comes across more on hoodwink'd to me and his songs are more outliers from the fuzzed out sludgy nmh kinda stuff from the other two

 

took me forever to figure out the difference between nick and dave, i've listened to the spook houses record & split a lot but that only further confused me. seems like nick is usually deeper

 

Listening to this for the first time and i already love it

Agree. I don't recall anything hitting the front news site about this release, but I may have missed something.

Shame really, all that lost time I coulda been listening to this...

 

My first three listens of this record, I couldn't make it beyond Pain because I kept wanting to hear all of the previous tracks again that badly. Never had that happen to me before.

five men on the ridge (nick)
cut from the vine (nick)
i (mike)
naked in the river with the creator (nick)

two im least sure about are spirit was and cut from the vine
