Two weeks early? Wow that seems pretty early in today's day and age

 

Yep. Very odd indeed.

 

Early thoughts:

- Guitars are very different sounding to Skiba’s previous work, especially on “Hot for Preacher.’

- Dan’s bass lines are exceptional. Again, different. I’d even go as far to say funky. No wonder he’s grown a moustache.

- Mix is fine. Sounds like a band playing together in a garage, which is what they were going for.

- Cathedral bells return on “Break.”

- “Shake With Me” is an ear worm.

- “Teenage Heart” could be a Sekrets song.

- No bad songs.

Going to hold off but apparently only 3 Dan songs? Bummer

This Addiction was the last one to have only 3 Dan songs I think

 

This is a very good album. Break sounds like vintage A3. Shake With Me is really good. Probably their best album since Crimson. Maybe. At least since A&I.

I feel like Dan is ON more than just three songs... It seems like while songs are primarily one or the other, this album has them both sprinkled in to each others songs.. Like Dan pops in to Matts main ones often.

unfortunately whenever they do 11-track albums it's always 8-Matt and 3-Dan. they only have more Dan if there's more tracklist lol

still excited to hear this one it seems like they're in a really great space

I think Agony & Irony enjoyers will really fuck with Break, has that slightly unhinged energy from those days

the whole bridge section of Shake With Me is phenomenal

 

yeah enjoyed this a lot. feels like an album they recorded eye to eye, the energy is phenomenal. really great sendoff for Derek

The last track is.... technically a Christmas....song? Its just a line in the chorus but... Lol I dont mind it.
