Another iconic movie theatre experience was seeing Step Brothers at age 19 after hot boxing a van with my friends in the parking lot before we went in. I do not think I have laughed harder in the theatre before or since.

Movie theaters shouldn’t exist? “Pen15” is lame?

Is this the Bad Opinions thread?

Ah I read that wrong! “Chad” is bad though. Really weird for Nasim Pedrad to hitch her wagon to that.

  5. I saw Superbad on its midnight premier and the theater was absolutely busting.

snakes on a plane was wild (also midnight premier).

believe it not anchorman might have been one of the loudest showings I’ve been do in terms of audible laughing

Watching the Jackass movies in theatres was an experience at 16.

My Grandma took me to see the The 6th Sense when I was 11. Years later in my 20's I casually brought it up at a family Christmas party, and I got a weird reaction like it was a secret i wasn't supposed to be sharing lol

They did a preview screening of “Borat” near the college I went to and it was bananas. People were sprinting out of the theater and falling out of their seats during the naked motel chase.

Ignoring all of that dude’s posts from now on until forever for saying theaters shouldn’t exist anymore. Quite possibly the worst take I’ve ever read on this site

I’m saying it’s wild that this is the main thing she’s doing. By all means, she can do what she wants, but this ain’t it for me.

Totally agree, just found it interesting and crafty myself that it's wholly her own doing

This is true. It’s gotta be a passion project if she’s doing it on Roku Channel budget. But she’s too talented for this to be her only thing.

It was filmed for TBS and cancelled the night before the premiere. It’s been finished for a while, Roku just picked it up

Before kids, I practically lived at the movie theatre. For the last 9 years, if we ever go to the movie theatre it's to take the kids to see a kids movie and I'll be God Damned if I'm not gonna take a nap in those comfy, heavy leathered, reclining chairs for two hours.

Saw 52 different movies in theaters in 2023. Went more than that so cause I saw stuff like Spider Verse, Barbie, etc. more than once.

    Try it, nerd.

I worked at a theater for 6 years, the only thing I can conclude is theaters shouldn’t exist.

Movies are always better watching it alone in my room, free from all the horrible people

Depends on the Genre. I’ll go see anything in theaters except horror. Horror movies tend to attract the most annoying idiots who can’t stop talking which takes away from any tension or atmosphere the movies are trying to build.
