wasnt this always the plan? i thought it was sort of announced that, the culmination of Mando would be a film tying in Mando, Ahsoka, and maybe one or two other projects. could be wrong.

I’ll post this in the Ahsoka thread too but the bottom of the press release for the movie also announced that Filoni is developing season 2 of Ahsoka

 

I mean I'll watch it but kinda dumb choice. No season 4 and this probably wont come out for like 2 years if its just going into production later in 2024.

 

My son is very into SW now because of this show, so watching this on the big screen will be awesome. Can't wait

 

If it leads to a tighter and better story telling vs the endless distracting celebrity cameos of s3, I’ll be cool with it.

 

The pacing and story needs to be a considerable step up. And I wonder if they're still going to use the dome thing for VFX, hope they move to more practical effects and on-location filming.

 

there might have only been a movie's length of good material in the 8 whole episodes of S3 anyway. i am pretty firmly in favor of this idea.

 

I would just love a bit of a return to form to how they handled season 1. Totally agree that S3 was bogged down by the cameos, and bad writing imo. Would love if they took their time to write a unique and compelling story that justifies a theatrical release.

 

Pretty sure they'll give this a very considerable budget, so therefore I'm sure they'll forgo the Volume and do more expensive, real sets

 

I honestly can't remember any celebrity cameos outside of the episode with Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd.

 

Hopefully the volume isn't used much, and that Grogu actually has something to do in this story

 

Totally. A s4 more like s1 would be dope. But after s3, a movie that will force them to do a tighter and more contained story has me more excited than a potential s4.

 

Tbf, I was slightly exaggerating and it’s faster to just say that than to get into other issues with s3.

All good, I was more trying to remember who else popped up. Season 3 was definitely the weakest so I'm by no means trying to defend it.
