I dig this. It reminds me of Prawn a bit, especially in some of the vocals but the instrumentation in parts too.

 

YOOOOOOO can't make this up, after I was done with their album I put on Prawn's Ships EP immediately, & I'm currently listening to Kingfisher!!

 

Haha, yeah, I listened to the Palamino album and then went to the Moving Mountains/Prawn split and Kingfisher.

Not to take anything away from it, and I hope it finds an audience, but I feel like this album would've been huge if it dropped 10 years ago. Like it'd slot right in with Kingfisher, Mediumship, Keep Doing What You're Doing, etc.

The Mali Velasquez album that came out in October is really special. Most of the songs deal with experiencing grief at a young age, and she describes those feelings perfectly.

I really like this band on CYLS — they sound like something unearthed from another era. weathered and dusty melodic rock and roll type emo. trying to think of what i mean. like early Karate maybe? not as twisty. album is out next week — I really like it
