Third Eye Blind / Yellowcard sounds like a $25 lawn show if I've ever heard one, which I'm all for.

 

killer support line up, would absolutely go to this if it came as-is to the US

 

you gotta remember so much of that is lawn. its 7k actual seats

 

Still smaller than the Hartford amphitheater which is 30k, HUGE lawn.

They are playing the same 7K venue that YC almost sold out in Seattle last summer. This tour will sell out quickly there.

 

I thought Bottlerock would bust, but they're still going and pulling expensive headliners. Guess I underestimated the fine folks that live in wine country.

 

Yeah, I used to be that guy being like "How do they put a show that draws 5k into a 25k shed" but booking acts that do a lot of concession sales if there are only 6k people there is better than booking a show that sells out but it's all kids that got drunk in the parking lot and aren't buying the $22 cocktails.

 

Feel for all the venues hosting that 3EB/Yellowcard tour. Gonna have some divas in the back to deal with

It's a very different vibe compared to most multi-genre fests, def a crowd that skews +40yo. PJ, Ed (moms and middle aged radio women loveeeeee him), and Stevie is the perfect type of headliners for this demo. I'd expect this to sell out really quickly.

 

Same in Chicago. Have to imagine the larger venues are in areas where Yellowcard didn’t hit last summer? Idk

 

Feel like I've definitely heard rumors of Ryan Key being on par with Stephen Jenkins as far as diva rumors go.

 

There’ll be a drop off since yellowcard isn’t misleading about doing an Ocean Avenue album play

If that's true, Ryan at least does a good job at at least presenting a humble persona. Stephan has been arrogant even before his band got signed.

 

3EB plays these venues every summer, they know what they’re doing lmao
