Agreed, but it was the co-op only and apparently the game has been somewhat patched to better performance. Plus, I'm a sucker for shooters in general so I tend to be more forgiving
Oh, trust me, I'll play it.
Screw it, sounds like Doom it is. Thanks guys!

Ending to Mafia 3 was so damn good. As far as cutscenes and story goes, it's an all time favorite. An absolutely perfect revenge story.

Edit: omg the post credit scene. Lol best thing ever.

The quick mine-cart section in RE 4 was so good. This game is just way too good. If I had a GameCube at the time it would be in my top 5.

Also really enjoying BF1. Need to play the sp tho.

Guess my tastes in video games have changed, can't for the life of me get into Mankind Divided despite knowing I really liked Human Revolution. Annoyed two fold, firstly in terms of paying for it and secondly not being able to enjoy what is apparently a good game.

  7. Finished Life is Strange episode 4. This is so fucked up. Seeing those photos of Kate and Rachel, ugh. And then Chloe at the end. The only thing that could've been worse than Chloe asking to kill her is Chloe dying and not being able to save her.

  8. Finished Life is Strange Episode 5. After everything I did to try to save Chloe, it didn't make sense to sacrifice her in the end, but I just couldn't let all those other people die, I couldn't let Max live on knowing that she's responsible for so much more suffering. I watched the other ending on YouTube and I know I made the right choice. But it still feels so shitty. I just lost my best friend in the whole world.

Everything about Jefferson was so. fucked. up. Made me feel so uncomfortable. Being used and objectified like that was so gross. I don't think any other video game has ever made me feel that way.

The surreal dream sequence was such a mindfuck. Trying to escape all those flashlights somehow made me feel more helpless than Jefferson did. And then in the diner, after all that time spent trying to help everyone (I saved Alyssa every chance I could), they all said I let them die. When you jump from one timeline to another, what happens to the people you leave behind?

    Who was that other Max?

One of the best games I've ever played for sure. No other game has made me feel so many different emotions so strongly. I would say I'm a sucker for anything time travel, but the story is so, so much more than that. Nothing I've played of Telltale so far comes even close.

Is anyone else crazy ass hyped for Horizon Zero Dawn despite its aggressively stupid name? I've suddenly become obsessed with it lately and I'm fucking dyyyyyyying for it.

Considering I haven't been into competitive multiplayer shooters for a long time (I think Halo 3 was the last game I enjoyed) I'm struggling to decide on Battlefield 1 since I really do like the look of it (think it looks amazing and the gun play looks solid) but not sure if I would get into it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider taking up less than 20gb with all the dlc included makes every other recent game look silly as hell.

I was thinking, I played both Life is Strange and Child of Light fairly recently, and they're both in my top favorite games, and you play as a female character in both of them, so I wondered if I could come up with a list of five favorite games where you play as a female character, then I realized, I've probably only played about five. (Things where you can choose your gender, like Dragon Age or Skyrim, don't count.)

Life is Strange, Child of Light, Tomb Raider, The Walking Dead Season 2, Mirror's Edge, Alice: Madness Returns, Portal.

There's also Arkham City, Tales from the Borderlands, Bioshock: Infinite (Burial At Sea), Telltale's Game of Thrones, but in those you're not a female character the entire time, or even a majority of the time. Even with something like Final Fantasy XIII you're not always controlling Lightning.

It's probably a combination of I'm not actively seeking out female-centered narratives in games and they're not being made as much in comparison to male-centered ones, maybe more-so the latter. This is probably Representation in Video Games 101, but I never really thought about it with games I've actually played before. It sucks that females make up probably 50% of the gaming population but don't get represented as main characters nearly as often.

Beyond Two Souls, Remember Me, and Alien Isolation immediately come to mind.

Sort of Syndicate. She was at least a million times better than her male counterpart.

My thoughts exactly. People keep hyping Horizon, but my reservations have always killed the hype as I've never enjoyed anything Guerilla Games has done.

AC Syndicate. You can choose Evie when you don't have to do Jacob's story missions, and I don't like her being disregarded. She's one of the best Assassins in the series. Besides, I honestly don't think Jacob is as bad as people make him out to be. I find the Frye twins the most interesting since Ezio. As a result, Syndicate I think is the best since Brotherhood (story, gameplay, side missions, characters).

    Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII.
P much the Tomb Raider franchise.
Child of Light was really beautiful and I urge people who haven't played it to try it.

I'd definitely say she's the best assassin. Jacob might have been better in his own game, but I was just always so mad when I had to change to him because compared to Evie he's nothing. The last half of the game really pushed Jacob and that bugged me. But yeah, they were great together.

Eh, maybe sequence 8 sure, because it was all Jacob because of Maxwell (AC tumblr confirmed Jacob is bi, so that's representation as well), but it had good character development for him.

Those final 2 sequences in general were pretty memorable. Boss battle was medicore tho.

I just remember being rubbed the wrong way when there was like a whole bunch of Jacob missions in a row and then when you finally get to play as Evie again you're just doing taxi service. I was way more use to Evie's slightly different way of playing though since I used her whenever possible. You're right though, I started liking him a lot more once he started developing well in the final sequences. I don't dislike him, I just like Evie so much more.

Ugh, AC final boss battles have always let me down.

That's interesting about Jacob's sexuality, would have liked to see that explored more because I don't remember anything that would have led me to think that.
