I saw them at the WFUV Holiday Show last night. Solid setlist with a good blend of songs. I will note that Brian's speaking voice sounded strange, almost nasal and higher than I am used to. I don't know if he was doing a bit (as he is want to do) but it was noticeably different. Every band (including Grace Potter and Iron & Wine) was on a tight timeline so we got less songs than normal.

Best album of the year.

 

I have this tied with Stereo Mind Game by Daughter as #1. But yeah, this album is close to perfect in my opinion.

Last night's solo show at Crossroads was...brutal. Came out already pretty drunk, by an hour in had still only played four songs. Belligerent, unprepared, loooong conversations off mic with individual crowd members. I walked out (from 2nd/3rd row-ish) at midnight after "Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts" and I was not the only one. I've been to like 400 concerts and I can't ever remember walking out before the end of the show.

 

I didn't follow TGA until 2020-ish, but Brian talked a lot in his Sittin Round at Home's that he didn't/doesn't drink. Has that changed now?

(not judging because I drink boatloads of alcohol)

 

That’s rough. I know a lot of fans travel for the Crossroads shows too, that sucks.

 

rough. Kinda sounds like my TGA show in 2022 that made me decide I wouldn’t be seeing them live anytime soon again.

 

Yeah I had thought he was sober too but he was absolutely drinking last night. A beer and a mixed drink just during the set.

 

Damn. That's a shame.

Brian and the band seemed like they were in a great place with the album release.

 

I know we’ve done the Brian Fallon live show talk to death, but that stinks.

 

Damn that's sad. They were fine last year when I saw them. Brian's banter is largely overblown by entitled fans but this doesn't sound good.

 

it sucks but artists are people and allowed to have off nights. we really don't have to go down the route of baseless speculation about their life lol. come on.
