That's a fun one for sure. I love universe mode. Curious to see the roster and dlc packs for this one

 

I had a lot of fun with 2k23

 

im very pumped lol, 2k23 was my most played wrasslin since the 360, and that was being much less familiar with the NXT roster and such than I am now

 

I've been tempted to pick up 2k23 since it's been on sale but will probably just wait until 2k24 at this point

 

I definitely had 19 and I think I had 20

 

2K23 was/is very good. I'm not a PC guy myself, but I think it's incredible that you can essentially have a full-fledged sim-style AEW game (or really any other promotion you want) thanks to the modding community.

 

yeah, typically id trade the last years game in for the GameStop pittance towards the next one, but the creation suites are so robust now that my 2K22 and 23 saves are like perfect snapshots of the whole fucking wrestling industry for that year lol, so they've actually got me holdin' on to them

 

I feel like the NXT roster is gonna be huge this time around

 

to be clear, you can do this all on console. you can't inject models from other games or custom songs like on PC, but id bet a lot of what you saw was just Community Creations in the vanilla game. 22 was the first year they were cross platform and people got motivated by that to get reallllllly good and there's a whole lil Patreon community around it. the devs are ridiculously loose with it. there is a guy named WhatsTheStatus that rips all the updated attires from the shitty gacha mode and uploads them to the CC for free and they don't care to the point they leave Easter eggs in updates for him to find lol

 

Yeah, I've definitely seen (and downloaded) a lot of the great CAWs and even some arenas, but I was speaking specifically to the PC mods only because of the additional abilities. But I agree - it's crazy what you can now achieve even on the consoles.

 

Might as well lock in Miro for 2024 while we're at it, and might as well put Sammy in for 2024 overpush too

Didn’t they start disabling any creations with content from MyFaction recently? They need to cut that shit out, or make the MyFaction stuff available without playing the mode.

for me it's just that while WWE's weekly TV has improved a lot, it still smacks of saving the big stuff for the big shows. just watching their PPVs has yet to fail me. AEW is a pile of wrestlers such that they can have random Wednesday supercards at a moments notice and there is almost always at least one PPV quality match, and i usually feel like i missed out on something if i get lazy and read results over watching

 

For me, I don’t watch WWE anymore and don’t plan on it. A lot of my favorites are there, but I just don’t have interest in following the companies style of wrestling. I’m glad that there’s been improvement, but I’ve been burned too much to care.

 

Yeah, same. I'll watch the big 5 PPVs, and maybe a smaller one if there's an interesting match (like Ill likely watch Elim Chamber)...but the week to week TV is just so brutal.

I kinda wish NXT was still an hour long show, because what I saw at Deadline made me intrigued, but, I barely have time for both 2hr AEW shows, let alone the 7hrs WWE produces each week.

 

WWE's socials make it extremely easy to not have to watch RAW or Smackdown. If there's a big moment, the entire segment is posted online within seconds anyway.

I watch NXT regularly and always catch the major WWE PPVs but can't be bothered to watch a 3 hour RAW every week.

So I just found a Roadrunner Records retrospective podcast and there's an episode about Killswitch's As Daylight Dies that has Roddy on it.

 

I have a lot of things I like in both companies and a lot of things I don't like. I think WWE is a largely superior product right now in almost every way, but felt the complete opposite less than two years ago. It's cyclical for me and I'm sure AEW will float my boat more in the future than it has in the last year. The extreme tribalism on both ends annoys the shit out of me. It's better for everyone if both companies are good.

I do think AEW gets far too much benefit of the doubt on a lot of stuff, though.
