Also would have put sanctuary happily in my top 5 if it was a horror movie, hell, I'd even put saltburn up there too!

America just isn't ready for the teenage pervert movie revival, simple as that!

 

Saltburn was mid but I don't think it even counts as horror. Just a fucked up tragedy.

 

Yeah I’m staying out of the Saltburn thread now. The people calling her the worst director alive have pretty much only complained about the writing of the movie in previous posts. Just doesn’t make any sense. And I don’t even like the movie to be clear.

It’s also just the same people in most of the movie threads that team up together and act like their taste is superior and exaggerate how everything they don’t like is the worst thing ever. This thread really is the place to be on here.

 

I know I'm in the minority, so I don't want anyone to take this personally, but literally nothing about that movie works for me lol. I mean, the premise is good, but the dialogue is bad, some of the performances are awful, the CG effects are bad, and I think the ending is only memorable because it's such a shocker, not because it's actually good. Based on how other people seem to feel about it, I'm sure it's better than my assessment, but it just really, really does not work for me unfortunately

 

While I don’t think some of those things are as bad as you feel they are, I definitely don’t think it’s like a great movie or anything. It’s a good watch, not a good movie. If that makes any sense lol

 

I don't really remember enough about it to agree or disagree, I was just curious lol. I remember thinking the religious lady's performance was pretty good though

 

I haven't caught up on Gourley and Rust, have they said what the next season will be?

I haven't heard the Disclosure cast yet..they released it, but whenever I try to play it it's The Temp cast from the week prior... it may just be an Apple glitch. Haven't tried it on any other platform, so idk.

 

Also..if the guys weren't awesome enough. I sent them a pretty detailed email about how their podcast helped me get through some tough times related to the pandemic, my marriage, and my mental health. Matt responded with the absolute sweetest message. Matt and Paul are absolute gems.

Also I think the episodes could be switched by accident? I know some people were posting about it online, not sure if they've been able to fix yet with the holidays but I believe it may be the same on Spotify.

New Hell House was just as good as the first imo. Very solid return to form.

 

Both were very good. When Evil Lurks in particular.
