You’re forgetting the two smaller arcs before The Culling Game. So it’s hopefully an extended season because I don’t know how they fit all of that into one season when it’s a bit longer than the S2 material.

  2. I think you're both right. Demon Slayer S1 Unwavering Resolve Arc was technically six smaller arcs. just based on what you said, JJK S3 sounds like it would include the Culling Game as well as the preceding two smaller arcs, each titled accordingly.

Oh for sure and I wasn’t disagreeing with Marx to be clear. I was just being pedantic because The Culling Game isn’t technically the next arc. They’re definitely right

Nobody hates the characters in JJK more than Gege does lol

Ohh right, I guess they get called different arcs. In my mind that’s all just part of the Culling Games, since virtually everything post-Shibuya is centered around the Culling Games lol

[MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING, DO NOT READ IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP TO THE MANGA]

So it look like the JJK wiki lists the Culling Game arc as ending on the chapter that Gojo gets unsealed. But imo the best/most devastating place to end it as a season would be after Sukuna escapes from Yuji /Maki. So if it ended there then it would be basically the same length as s2. But then again maybe after Shibuya and Sukuna’s ploy finally paying off for him, it would be better to give the anime-onlys a shred of hope for once lol

Either way, the “longer” version would only be about 10 chapters extra, not a massive difference at all

DON’T READ THIS EITHER IF YOU’RE NOT CAUGHT UP ON THE MANGA

I feel like ending on the unsealing would actually be more devastating in the long run. You give anime-onlys that hope with Gojo coming back, they have to sit with it for a year or two, and then they get the rug completely ripped out from under them at the start of S4. That would be brutal

  9. all caught up! really great season, but tbh i found the final two episodes kinda confusing and underwhelming, way too much exposition all at once and not enough resolution for the end of an arc. obv excited to see where it goes next tho!

If you have any questions, feel free to message me or just ask in here with spoiler tags. I might be able to clear some stuff up if I can do so without spoiling other stuff. Though based on past comments, Marx seems more knowledgeable honestly. Lol. But I can try my best!

  11. I did some googling so I think I was able to clear things up without spoiling anything.
I get the big stuff like
    1) Geto is actually some 100+yo dude and he just released a bunch of curses onto Japan, throwing everything into chaos
    2) Jujutsu heads are distancing themselves from Satoru and Yuji, even sending Yuta to kill the latter

I was mostly just confused with
    1) Why is Mei Mei half naked in bed with her kid brother (answer: idk they're just weird like that)
    2) Why is Choso so convinced he's Yuji's brother (answer: aforementioned 100+yo dude is their dad?)
    3) Tsukumo appearing out of nowhere and doing absolutely nothing

Lately social media has basically spoiled the hell out of JJK for me and it kinda sucks. I haven’t felt like I got this many spoilers since AOT season 4 stuff.

I think this might just lead me to reading the manga because being an anime only on the internet is going to be very hard especially with the manga going on.

Okay those are actually fairly easy for me I think. Haha

    1) honestly a good question. I don’t remember it ever being explicitly brought up why she does that. I always assumed it was to just show the kind of terrible person she actually is. She may not be a villain, but she really only cares about herself and money and it’s showing her manipulation over her little brother in an obviously reprehensible way to control him for her benefit. I think I read someone bring up that it’s also probably to show how her and Nanami are polar opposites. He left the world of money to be a sorcerer again to help people and she’s only a sorcerer for financial gain. He imagined living a peaceful life in Malaysia before he died selflessly to save people and that scene with Mei Mei is her in Malaysia after running away and instead of saving people, she’s hurting someone she’s supposed to protect because it benefits her.
    2) Choso has that vision about Yuji at the end of their fight and that’s when he senses their brotherly bond and that’s why he doesn’t kill Yuji. He then kinda puts the pieces together himself. But it’s a bit more complicated than them sharing a dad. I won’t go into more detail than that.
    3) She’s basically just showing up because she’ll be more prominent going forward. That’s pretty much it. Lol

Yeah it’s brutal out there. I fell off the JJK manga for like a year and a half and finally caught up within the last couple months because the internet was freaking out about something that happened and I knew it was either catch up immediately or get spoiled.

And I’m glad I did because it doesn’t seem like anyone really gives a shit about spoiling others anymore. People will just blatantly talk about that moment in completely unrelated posts or threads. I see at least one person reference it in the MHA discussion threads every week. I definitely would not have avoided it if I didn’t read when I did.

I'm like a year behind on the JJK manga and part of me wants to catch up to avoid spoilers but I hate reading things weekly and would rather just wait until its finished.

You could always just stop when the big spoiler happens and then wait for the rest. It’s coming to an end next year but I don’t think anything will blow up quite like that did.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

No spoilers ahead, keeping it vague: I loved this season of JJK but the finale did feel a bit strange as an anime-only. Was almost lackluster to me after all the amazing action sequences we got throughout, but I did love the feeling of uneasiness knowing of the impending chaos. I also expected a big fight for the finale too and I do appreciate having my expectations subverted somewhat.

also think Hidden Inventory was far and away my favorite part of S2, honestly wish we got to spend a whole season in that time period

  18. yeah it's not that "there's no epic fight so nothing happened," there was too much happening with hardly any explanation, just a montage of stills and disembodied dialogue. I'm sure it'll all make sense once the next season kicks off but right now it's really frustrating

It reminded me of Evangelions final episode with all the still images and dialogue. At least the animators got to relax a bit.

if I wanted to start the manga from here, which chapter would that be?

there’s a huge plot point the anime touches on that they don’t even explain how that plot point got to be which was funny to see and annoying.

inumaki losing his arm and yuta makes a big deal during the last scene but the anime completely forgets to explain why he lost his arm i think

That Yuta scene was also very Evangelion with the SEELE esque panels. Also Yuta looks like Shinji and has the same voice actor
