Is it just me or is Edge bringing the entire story down with Christian Cage? Felt like this was a hot story until Edge joined it.

Its kinda why I wasnt that excited for Edge in the first place. He worked overly long matches in WWE, his stories were meh (see: Judgement Day before he left), and as we've seen, he's not a Mox or Jericho or Punk who moves the needle upon arrival.

Ill give them the benefit of doubt that this was clearly supposed to pay off at Full Gear or sooner...but yeah, if we dont see the Devil standing over MJF to end the PPV, there's probably not much they can do to save the angle

 

Wouldn't it be better if the CC prize was a title shot?

 

CC was awesome but I can’t help but feel annoyed that it basically existed so Mox/Kingston could happen. They have could have easily made the match without the tournament

Mox just won his bracket to try and prove he’s still the top guy.

Eddie won his bracket as an underdog who ALSO put his greatest achievements on the line

the tournament helped elevate those stories!

 

I thought the CC has been fucking great. Banger matches, swerve’s position in the last 2-3 months has skyrocketed. Storylines bleeding into various segments, and nearly all the matches have been PPV level quality.

 

No one said it was bad it’s just classic AEW
