The Philly sports complex in general is just well organized

it has the same Baltimore model of - put all the sports at the front of the city by the highway, and share parking lots, so that no matter how many sports events are going on we can always predict where traffic will back up, and so that we can get the cars outta Philly as quickly as possible.

Philly stadiums are also centered around a large entertainment and dining complex that’s great for watching other games before or afterwards. and if you arrive early, it’s close enough to FDR park to walk or drive there and tailgate there first. they also have a cool tented outdoor bar with tons of TVs on other games.

Only real flaw is that taking transit there is not that convenient, Philly’s subway is a nightmare to navigate and it doesn’t take you that close.

Jags stadium still barely ekes out Philly for me because of

    1) seriously enormous super screens, you don’t miss a single detail vs watching at home
    2) heated swimming pools (I’ve never used them but it’s a cool idea! And that part of the stadium is general admission too I’m pretty sure)
    3) attached amphitheater for music and events
    4) the ability to take water taxi so you can drink, enjoy the water there and back, and deal with zero traffic cause you’re coming from the other side of the river. It’s cheap too, $15 round trip
    5) better weather throughout football season

If taking subway in Philly was a better experience, I’d rank Philly’s stadium over Jax due to the convenience, cause they’re pretty close in terms of amenities, and both have awesome views of the city from the parking lots. But accessibility wise they’re actually about the same, walking from downtown Jax to the stadium would feel equal to taking subway from downtown Philly to their stadium

My least favorite professional sports venue is still Fenway. God do I hate that stadium so so so much but 0 chance they’d ever get a new one

I don’t know why, I think it was one of the coolest features of the stadium design. Its architecture and lighting is pretty cool, it’s nice to look at even if you don’t go in. You can see it’s silhouette from every angle of the stadium, it’s literally part of the architectural design.

and the back of the venue is wide open so if you’re at the stadium you can hear whatever concerts going on in there.

They don’t often have concerts at the same time as games but I’ve been there when Tedeschi Trucks Band - the best band from Jacksonville by a mile - was playing, sounded fuckin great. I also just think it was smart by Tony Khan to get the most out of its usage by hosting AEW there as well.

tldr moving to London is dumb, demanding a new stadium is dumb, Jags live game experience is already awesome (well, as long as the product ON the field isn’t terrible lmao) and has a couple things that most stadiums don’t

It’s an amphitheatre. Of course bad bands who are popular play there, like any other amphitheatre. It’s still a good sounding venue right by the river that occasionally has good stuff. I’d enjoy tf out of a concert there the few times they do host something I wouldn’t mind seeing.

Occasional coughing, still super stuffed nose. Feeling pretty tired but that could be unrelated to the Covid. Wife is still symptom free.

    How about you?

Damn, at least doesn’t seem like it’s taken a turn for the worse. Hope you start feeling better soon!

Today is prob the best I’ve felt since Monday! Slightly congested, slight cough, but not as dizzy/cloudy. Honestly worst symptom is 1 of my ears feels blocked lol - such a weird and annoying feeling not getting it to ”pop”

    Fucking SERIOUSLY!!????

I intentionally lock it so that both the back wheel and the frame are locked together so someone can’t just take the back wheel off and steal the *whole bike* that way.

who in the fuck just steals your front wheel?? This isn’t even a normal road or mountain bike, these wheels don’t fit most bikes!
