It’s honestly true. A lot of presale codes are just there to measure how much reach a site/mailing list has or whatever.

 

Bands on State Champs level or even smaller and certainly bigger don’t have “jobs”. A lot of them will be involved in business on different levels but they’re not going home and bartending for the most part. Bands on that level are making a years salary for most people on 1 or 2 tours.

something to consider is that bands on that level are making that salary over the course of around 4 months out of the year of work. It’s just smart to spend the other 8 doing something and making more money, whether they need more money to survive or not. After that, it comes down to the person. Do they want to tend bar once in a while to stay busy over those 8 months? Do they want to start a business and focus on it during those 8 months? Some might just want to do nothing.

I agree 100%. It's a smart move. I don't mean dues in SC specifically are working 9-5's when not touring as bookkeepers for small non-profits. I just mean I think a lot of touring musicians do work when they are not touring either A. supplemental incoming B. to grow within the industry or C. to not just sit around (certainly a mix of all 3 too).

And this message board is just an echo chamber…especially bc if you spoke openly with any type of Brand New support it led to you being banned from these boards…so if you’re going to look for any sort of middle ground in terms of support for them touring again you def won’t find it here….with that said I have zero doubt that they would instantly sell out venues if they chose to tour again however I still highly doubt they ever would despite these mysterious friends and family shows that there is no evidence of ever occurring

they'd be cool to see, but man, their sound just hasn't aged well. Just such a time capsule and a relic of a sound - from the guitar tones, to the drum tones, to the mixing and the screaming / vocals - it's just peak emo (over whiney and accented cleans and the screaming just hurts my vocal cords thinking about it, not even close to the proper or sustainable way to scream).

I actually listed my ticket for resale. I like Issues but they are not enough to bring me to a sold out House Of Blues, especially with openers I don't care about.

 

The Michigan date of the Say Anything tour got upgrade from a 2000 cap room to a 4500 cap room. This tour is selling WAY better than I expected it to.
