i would just like to say, i always thought "QFT" meant "quit fucking talking". didn't know it meant "quoted for truth".

now i feel like that grandma that texted her family, "grandpa died this morning, LOL" thinking that 'LOL' stood for "lots of love".

 

I didn't realized that album was a big deal, I loved that first EP back in high school and haven't listened to much else. I might give RFTS a spin later!

 

yeah that band and especially their first two albums are held in pretty high regard around these parts. amazing albums tbg

i wrote some words about this album because i really love it.

 

This. This feels like a huge step down and as of now I don't intend on listening again very soon. Shame cause I love The Season.

I think so too and that scares me.

 

Disagree wholeheartedly. But also it's silly to make claims like that about an album that we have a shitty YouTube stream for a few hours vs an album we've had for years.

 

It's not as good as one of the best albums from that era of the scene sure but this is still damn good in its own right.

What's off kilter about any of these albums? They're all rather straightforward to me so I'm curious

 

idk its probably hyperbolic but i really genuinely believe this is a scene classic in the making.

i just meant as far as rock albums go theyre different from the norm. More niche. I'd argue METN isnt straightforward though.

its a super cool feeling. idk lately i havent felt much inspiration to write so i think its special when an album makes me go "fuck i gotta write a whole bunch of words about this"

 

It's always cool when bands recognize your work. I've been given props from jimmy eat world, Anthony green, Danny brown, el-p for pieces I wrote. Kind of makes me miss writing about music. But podcasting is filling that void just fine
