    Synopsis:

The long-awaited explosive climax to the first arc of the #1 New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive.

Dalinar Kholin has challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions, and the Knights Radiant and the nations of Roshar have a mere 10 days to prepare for the worst. The fate of the entire world—and the Cosmere at large—hangs in the balance.

Hope I enjoy this more than ROW. I’ll still be pre-ordering because I’m a weak man.

Stormlight 6, at minimum, being 2032 hurts.

No Horneater novella and Mistborn confirmed to be the movie.
Good lot of updates. Can tell it’s all taking its toll with him passing non-Cosmere over but if it means more Khriss (and a less-stressed author) I’ll take it!

I think Brandon has always been really good at managing project timelines and his own efforts. He's made it a big point to keep his workload varied and interesting. I've seen people complaining about the "delay" for the second SA arc/the Horneater novella, but honestly, the projected publication schedule for these upcoming series looks really great to be, and importantly very manageable from Brandon's end. Pretty exciting stuff I think.

Your comment reminded me—at Dragonsteel he confirmed that it was Mistborn he's been developing a movie treatment. He said that they'd gotten really far along in the process but had to pause for a while and reevaluate things—and by "really far along," he specifically said "such as seeing actors in mistcloaks fighting"...so that's exciting.

I think the only reason it’s manageable is because he’s passed stuff over to Janci, Dan etc and it’s acknowledged it was a lot. The timeline is good and I don’t mind delays if the quality of work is great which it has been recently. I’m excited for more Elantris and projects like that.

yeah I saw a few mention that he said it was Mistborn. Must have been really cool to see Mistcloaks! Hope we get some more news in 2024.

The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance are two of the most insane entries to kick off a series in the genre.

I’ve got the final leatherbounds I don’t have in a cart and I’m waffling on pulling the ($350) trigger, despite knowing it’ll be $450 in less than a week.

Those leather bound editions look real nice. Seems like they are top quality.

Glad I fell out of love with Sanderson before those became a thing. Otherwise I’d have dropped so much cash that I would come to regret lol.

I have all the leatherbounds that have been released so far. They're my prized possessions and the jewel of my bookshelf. Did I spend way too much money? Ya, for sure. But worth it to me.

I’ve got the original Mistborn trilogy with the bookends and the WoK boxset on my shelf right now. Elantris, Warbreaker, and Mistborn 2 1-2 coming soon.

The more I read, the more it just didn’t click.

He’s the most entertaining world builder I’ve encountered. And that’s what carried me through most of his books. But I just came to realize that, with a few notable exceptions, I didn’t care for any of the people that inhabited those worlds.

But I will always think highly of Way of Kings, Elantris, and Warbreaker.

Received leatherbound Elantris for Christmas. Gorgeous book, as expected. I need to start adjusting my bookshelves though, they're pretty much at capacity.

Probably due for an Elantris reread this year too.

That might be one of the only earlier Sanderson books I haven’t read yet!

I’m saving my Elantris re-read for when 2 gets announced.

However, a Stormlight re-read for 2024 is a must. Rhythm of War was so dense.

I get this. I love his worldbuilding and his magic systems are super detailed. But that's a turn-off for some readers, and I've heard his writing described as reading a videogame manual or D&D rules lol

Yeah, I mean, I don't want to be too negative. The man is clearly insanely talented, and I still enjoy a lot of his work. But he just doesn't occupy the place in my hierarchy of authors that he once did.

That said, I am genuinely in awe of both his imagination and his efficiency/output. He makes it incredibly easy to be a huge fan of his, which is undoubtedly why he has so many of them and they are so avid.

My leatherbounds and Alcatraz boxset came in, alongside some gifts (Mistborn book ends, the lil dude from Skyward)… this man owes me a lot of money. The White Sand omnibus is the only thing I’m missing, I think.
