Wasn't there a reason why that 5th round pick was a 5th round pick

Also peak early-Eagles Andy Reid where he would bring in any dude with character flaws if the talent was there.

Pats and Chiefs combined are gonna take the two best QBs of each of the last two generations and just waste them away with, combined, like 5 total seasons of WRs (all of who were very publicly fired/traded) who were good enough to be called WR1s, Julian Edelman, and just a pool of like 150+ dudes whose names we wouldnt know if they werent blessed to be dropping passes from the best in the game.

Meanwhile, Peyton got multiple HOF-level WRs

Shockingly Peyton with his multiple HOF WRs has as many rings as 28 year old Mahomes and 1/3 of Brady’s entire Patriots career. Big wasted lol

I may be wrong but even without hsi charges, wasn’t he largely a gadget player in college that probably wouldn’t have been an early round pick regardless?

idk man good luck when the Chiefs sign like Darnell Mooney or Curtis Samuel or something to be the new #1 lol. Reid always did enjoy trying a team’s #3 WR as a #1. Ah, Kevin Curtis.

Tbf to Reid, he did try to invest draft capital in WRs early on, he just never hit lol. It took him a decade before he finally hit with Desean and then Maclin the next year. Before that it was Todd Pinkston, Gari Scott, Freddie Mitchell, Na Brown, Billy McMullen, etc...probably some other guys I'm forgetting. He did have some mild success with Reggie Brown and Jason Avant but neither of those guys were ever #1s.

How many MVPs did McNabb win? Insane to compare him to Mahomes. Was McNabb ever once by any reasonable person touted as the best qb, period?
I don’t agree with KC’s offensive team building strategy this year but the overall results of Reid & Mahomes doesn’t lie. Just please don’t compare him to Known Loser Donovan McNabb lol

(Also the WR1 is on the team already - it’s Rice) but finding a long-term replacement for Kelce should also be a priority next offseason. I wish they’d gotten one of these awesome tight ends in this past draft instead of a developmental pass rusher

I was commenting on Reid's tendency to think having a great QB was enough and his history of not always surrounding his QBs with the best talent, not comparing McNabb to Mahomes lol

Right and I’m saying having Mahomes is THE difference

Anyone have a website to stream full game replays like nflbite? On a four hour train ride and would like to watch what I slept thru last night

Nevermind I just watched five minutes of highlights looks like it was kind of a boring game

Idk he's looking a bit more human this year with his true #1 WR appearing to have lost half a step and no one else picking up the slack. It's really hard to carry your team to the SB yourself all the time, Brady was a goddamn miracle with some of that surrounding talent. TBF though I don't know if I'm remembering the talent badly or just remembering Brady being so good he made guys like Deion Branch and Danny Amendola competent WRs lol. Of course he also had the stud TE like Mahomes does now, so that makes up for it a bit.

I’ve been pessimistic about KC of late but even still, they’re having their first sorta underwhelming season. It’s probably going to be fine!

Yeah I'm not saying their bad or anything haha, just that the AFC feels way more wide open this year in part because the Chiefs haven't quite been the Chiefs all year. Last year it felt like "can Buffalo or Cincy knock them off" whereas this year it feels like "who the fuck is coming out of the AFC" lol
