Aight so a bit personal, but "The End Is Beautiful" kicked my ass so hard because my girlfriend and I went through such a rough time this week. Both of us had the paranoia of mentioning a possible break up, so we didn't bring it up and the silence made things worse. I swallowed the bullet, admitting to myself that I love her so if she wants it to be over, we will do just that because I want what's best, so I go talk to her. After a long, emotional, and cathartic talk, we realized the troubles we had weren't even because of the relationship. We didn't realize it until that conversation, with the both of us going through hard times at the same time, we both assumed it was our relationship, and not outside stress.

We sorted it out and now we're stronger than ever. She thanked me for talking to her, for being raw, for willing to let go. It's a love that I'm glad to have. We both have each other in hard times and I genuinely know that our love is worth it. TEIB really connects with me. The hours before talking to my girlfriend were really hard, as I was tearing apart my own head on whether breaking up is the right call and if I'm willing to put everything we had down to help her in the long run. I'm happy to have her back, even if I didn't actually lose her. I'm happy to have this song. I'm happy to have this album.

"Got a picture of the look when I knew I'd lost you, and I know when you feel trapped, you're gonna do what you have to. You see, the problem was us; we tried to bend the love to the picture we had in our heads."

The title track... I can't handle this amount of emotion right now.

"Pass the Baby" wasn't anything all the wild or outrageous. surprised to read so many comments about it. struck me as "Gotta Be Somebody's Blues 2.0"

Saying you don't like it is one thing, saying it's not a good song like fact is another.

Definitely going to need to give this some more listens before I really know how I feel about it. It didn't immediately blow me away on my first listen like it seemed to for so many people.

we're not going to have this "discussion". there's enough 'don't like / isn't good' ridiculous debate in other threads lol

I really am stunned by how absolutely stellar this is. I knew it was going to be good, but this meets and exceeds my expectations. I obviously need to spend a lot more time with it, but I am so pleased so far.

Bold, possibly hyperbolic claim: After 1 listen I probably like this more than at least 3 of their other albums (post-Static, that is). Maybe 4.

i'm just about to finish up my first listen and know for sure it's already passed Invented, Damage and Clarity. might surpass Bleed American within a few weeks if my enjoyment continues to go up or stay steady.

Switch Clarity and Bleed American in your assessment and thats where I stand. And ultimately thats a very premature assessment on my end, but I think this album is something very special.

smash that like button if If You Don't, Don't + World You Love + Carry You + The End Is Beautiful is the holy quad squad of JEW tracks

haha definitely premature, but depending on how you feel about some of their records maybe not so crazy. i hold only a few bright spots for Invented, and maybe one or two for Damage so it's easy for IB to pass those by. Clarity i like, but never fucking really remember so it hasn't stuck with me as the years go on. so already, there's 3 IB has easily passed by on a rankings list.
