Yeah even the smallest procedures can fuck people up lol.

I just hope it’s something people start considering more especially if it’s an isolated tear. ACL surgery is just so commonplace now that it’s become the standard. Realistically, as long as there aren’t other factors like meniscus or other ligament tears, athletes could potentially return in season without surgery if it happens early enough imo. I don’t know this from experience because I don’t work with high level athletes but just based on the principles of what we learn in school, I don’t see how not.

I’ve thought about since I’ve started practicing and I probably wouldn’t choose to have surgery if I ever injured my own knee unless it became a lingering issue.

Retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.

They basically butterflied me, rolled my organs up like a burrito, and then scraped my innards for cancer lol. I know, because I watched the tape of someone else’s beforehand because I’m a freak.

 

Oh ok, that’s still a lot, despite the minimal closing effort lol.

Like I said, any surgery can fuck people up. We get people that just get shoulder or knee scopes and they act like they’re dying.

I’d probably watch any surgery beforehand if I had to have one too lmao
