I remember enjoying Michael Clayton but not thinking it was some mind blowing film like a lot of people seem to think.

 

I saw Michael Clayton in theaters and the theater mistakenly started playing 30 Days of Night…. The old people in the audience were not happy

 

Michael Clayton was really good but it got drowned out by one hell of a year for films in 2007. It would have a hard time cracking the top 5 in that year let alone top 5 of the 21st century. I think it’s got a bit of a cult status because it did get overlooked a bit but it probably didn’t deserve to get talked about as much as there will be blood and no country for old men. I think the assassination of Jesse James has the same case as being overlooked that year and it was a little better than Michael Clayton.
