Did anyone write a good book on the Panama Papers? Feels like we should have a book club in this thread haha

 

I honestly should read more political non-fiction than I do.

I will always recommend everyone here read The Ten Year War by Jonathan Cohn. Does an awesome job chronicling the legislative fights leading up to, and then obviously focusing on, the passage of the ACA.

 

My goal for 2024 is to do all of Robert Caro's books (The Power Broker & the LBJ series)

 

the definitely and probably vote for is a good way to do these kinds of polls to see where there could be more sway

 

I'm trying to finish How to Hide an Empire before the end of the year. Super interesting look at the various colonies/territories/land the US has seized under different circumstances.

There's compelling stuff about Hawai'i, The Philippines, Puerto Rico, etc. but also things like the hundreds of islands we took just to mine bird shit from prior to industrialized fertilizer production

 

I got like 130 pages into that before someone else wanted to check it out of the library so had to give it back. Good read.
