Why wouldn’t they hype up that Dragon Lee could have potentially been US Champ and North American Champ if he advanced in the tournament and he won at Deadline

 

As much as I dislike Cody, goddamn he’s a great PR guy.

And as much as I hate CM Punk, that promo wasn’t terrible and he does seem reinvested. Clearly the tribute to the troops crowd isn’t the right one to get your AEW jabs in

 

I don’t think it has anything to do with Tribute for the Troops. The majority of the WWE audience doesn’t know or care about AEW so it fell flat. It’s probably a good thing because Punk can focus on current feuds instead of relying on heat from shitting on AEW, which would’ve had a limited shelf life anyways.

 

For sure but also they also kinda just give out those tickets to the service men so I’m sure there’s a lot of them that go in groups that probably don’t even watch wrestling at all but go with their buddies for a night out. I definitely agree with your first point though

 

Made me laugh.

But yeah, your average SD audience is gonna have a lot more casual fans that may not even know AEW exists. It popped the people it was supposed to pop and has the reference of KO constantly punching Waller and Theory backstage to cover it.

Not watched NXT in a while, is there a reason why Axiom and Frazer are fighting again? Not complaining, just seems like a “yeah, just let ‘em have a match” match.

 

Yeah kinda. Axiom made a remark to Nathan about losing to Ilja the week before so Nathan got fired up about it.

 

More or less yeah. They had a match on the show this week that ended when all the women in the iron survivor match brawled from backstage into the ring. Basically just used that match not finishing as an excuse to have it as a preshow match.

 

Well, it certainly was a banger. Those guys don’t know how to have a bad match.

 

Their chemistry is so good

 

Wonder if Frazer will be the NXT guy in the US title tournament.

 

I was gonna say Axiom, just because he was already on SD a couple of weeks ago. May have been a soft debut.
