I know they’re being purposefully obtuse at this point but there is no ongoing rape of Israeli women so what would I be protesting? Oct 7, to the extent rapes even happened, is a day in the past. I know from the media it might seem like every day is Oct 7 but we’re two months away from it now. There is ongoing slaughter of Palestinians including many women and children so I think protesting that seems important right now! There are also reports of rapes of Palestinian women in Israeli prisons but we don’t get to talk about those I guess because they don’t have a lobby donating money to pieces of shit in our congress.

At least he’s consistent with his views on enforcing borders I suppose

I mean he's not wrong about talking about it, it's just the answers to it aren't what Republicans want. You can't just "close the border". You need to significantly increase funding for asylum courts and lawyers, revamp the legal immigration system to be both not as long to go through and allow more than just 1 million a year (I don't know what the magic number is to balance the strain of the current cap vs. what workers we need vs. skill level vs. etc. Make it an extra million of college grads/skilled laborers if need be, anything that eases the strain so that people aren't waiting years in line), enforcement that isn't simply building walls and then locking people we catch into camps, building more infrastructure to humanely house folks that you can't find placements for throughout the country, etc.

Idk, a made for TV country song from the 90s sounds like the odds are very against it haha

 

The interest and enjoyment of the song is because of the vibe with the scene from the show. Listening without that context will probably be a disappointment. There are plenty of songs that I love because their use in another medium sparked an emotional response for me that others just aren’t going to get.
