I liked it a lot, not my favorite ever but I thought it was a solid first big special. The airport story was the peak for me. More crowd work from him is always welcome. I feel like he's funniest when he bounces the energy of other people. I think thats why I like his podcast so much.

 

I fell asleep with about 20 minutes to go but I think I preferred Stavvy's YouTube special, Live At The Lodge Room, tbh

 

Very much looking forward to new Gulman.

 

Maron had the best special of the year imo. I should rewatch. Felt like seeing a classic for the first time. I also really enjoyed the Mulaney special despite never liking his delivery. The Sarah Silverman special was fun, but lacking.

 

Maron’s is easily a top 3 for the year. I’ll have to think about what I’ve watched this year.

Marc Maron
John Early
Tom Segura/Mulaney for honorable mentions

 

Glad Chris Rock didn’t even get a mention. Bargatze and Birbiglia were big ones for me. I also laughed pretty consistently at Shane Gillis, all his baggage aside. Mulaney was good, but nothing I feel like re-visiting.

Fuck - definitely left off Bargatze and Kinane. Haven’t watched Stav or Birbiglia yet.

So excited for Gary Gulman who always get me laughing.

 

Gulman stays incredibly underrated. His extended bits like naming states and role playing are some of the best I’ve ever heard.

 

Kinane is in okc next weekend @imthegrimace come down and hang

 

Kinane might be the funnest comedian I’ve seen live. There’s a looseness to his sets that I love. It ebbs and flows so well.

Off the top of my head my favorite specials this year were Joe Pera, Stavros, Jared Freid, Birbiglia, and Mullaney probably in that order.

Kyle Kinane is so, so funny. Dave Smith has one on Youtube as well, not sure if it's from this year or last

I keep forgetting about the new Birbiglia special.

 

If I share a drive link for the new David cross will anyone watch it? It’s probably my favorite of the year. But I wasn’t really big on anything this year. Even birbigs I would put middle of pack compared to his others.

 

I’d watch it. I love Cross but don’t want to pay $15 to see it.
