As a Floridian the Tom Petty song in the trailer was perfection.

 

I wish they’d release it day one on PC though. I’d much prefer to play it on PC than Xbox or PlayStation

 

I’m surprised that it’s not releasing simultaneously on PC, I guess they gotta figure out how to optimize that on different hardware setups between now and 2025.

now that I think about that gta trailer a bit more and realize just how much stuff they packed into it I get the feeling the vast majority of 2024 is going to be a polishing phase which is good I think most video games require a full year of cleaning things up before release.

 

I would like to think that as well, but rockstar has a track record of delaying games after an initial date was already announced. I would not be surprised at all if this is delayed to 2026, especially since this trailer didn’t even feature any gameplay.

GTA VI in 2026, just in time for GTA VI definitive edition to release in 2027 on PS6 and Xbox 5.

They definitely have been working on this thing for years though, GTA is the golden child of Rockstar and it wouldn’t surprise me if they were working on it at the same time as RDR2 and then went full throttle after RDR2 released. Plus, we all know Take-Two is money hungry enough to get that thing as soon as possible so there’s that too.

2025, damn, that feels so far away, I would have put money on it being next year with the leaks. Looks very good though, and very much digging that Tom Petty vibe.

 

I don't play games nearly as much as I used to and I haven't bought a game day one in years (probably RDR2 actually) but GTAVI will be a day-one buy

 

While my opinion on Lords of the Fallen (2023) just kept getting better and better as I played more of it, Immortals of Aveum is alerady starting to wear me down. There's just so much exposition.

 

They were working on RDR2 for years and even that game had delays. Would it be nice for it to release in 2025? Sure. Do I think it might be 2026? Yes.

I’ll be waiting for it to drop on PC though so if it gets delayed it probably won’t be on there until 2027. Now that is too far away.

 

Totally agree, making something this next gen and what looks like a fairly giant leap compared to anything else made is going to take time and the time they are taking will be worth it.

 

I have been completely indifferent to GTA for a long time but that trailer was such vibes it made me very intrigued.

 

So I didn’t get a Steam Deck in Tokyo (wrong terminal coming in). But I have one on order which should arrive this week. Pretty stoked to get back into gaming again as I’ve been very much off for the last 10 years with only bursts here and there.

 

Golf mode in GTA 5 is better than PGA 2K23.
