That’s just it - the last record had a TON of heavy parts. It was lost a bit in the atmospheric sound of some of the songs, but damn, it goes live. I hate to blame production but I feel like we can in that case.

Alright, now this is starting to veer into tryhard territory.

I get they're clapping back at the haters, but this feels a bit extra.

This is the most interesting part about this song. Where are the Doom riffs?

Adding a little more thought to this; it kind of loses points with me just because it's so clearly about their detractors that I can't relate to it on my own terms.

It makes me think of Sevendust's "Enemy", which was all about their feud with Dez from Coal Chamber, and it was just so blatantly about it that the song itself felt undermined.

As a song, it's alright. Lyrically, I wish it was about something else.

Child's play. I've been replaying that new Graphic Nature track anyways.

glad this has its fans but i think its pretty bad unfortunately lol

guess their idea of going heavy now is not having any riffs at all and just chugging all the way through

I've listened to this a few times today and there are elements I actually enjoy but there feels like this need from them to ham it up on their end to prove a point and I think that's where I'm struggling a bit.

God dammit. Bought tickets to see them pre FTTWTE. It was rescheduled thrice in the pandemic and eventually refunded. Hopefully I catch them on leg 2.

Screamed verse vocals sound wonderful. Shout-y vocals aren’t great, never been a fan of that style. I miss the riffs but the chugging does play along with the vocals really well.

wish bands would avoid using these cheesy children gang vocals. Not sure I’ve ever heard one and thought it made the song better.

chorus sounds like a magnolia park chorus idk the name of. Works much better for MP.

all that is to say, I think it’s a step in the right direction, i enjoys it enough, but very much sounds like a diluted band trying to regain traction.

  23. Corny gang vocals aside, this is my biggest gripe about the song. There's a cool riff latter on but they quickly move on from it and then everything else seems buried under thick chuggy guitars layered with electronics. I know it's an usual production trick for them at this point, but I remember how frustrating it was to not clearly take notice of all of Josh's leads on the last couple records.

Great song and I’m 100% with them in terms of the lyrics. Looking at the comments over the past two years or so has been ridiculous. Especially in regards to their new sound and Tom’s death, some fans are just ridiculous and extremely entitled.

"I am the patron saint of lost causes"

I kinda agree, however if they respond like this to 'fans' who are sending death threats and bring up Tom's death in vain every time they sound different than before, it's like pouring oil to the fire. Stupid people should maybe just be ignored and not provide them any kind of stage, as if they are acting like this, there is no way that their mind can be changed this way.
