lol it’s true. I swear whenever I watch movies on Hulu it won’t be in my recently watched even if I hadn’t finished it. And if I ever hit resume play good luck of it not just starting over anyways

 

I gave up on the first season after a few episodes, but that does look better.

if it wasn't for the Apple TV app, I'd probably just not watch anything on Hulu. Netflix constantly moving the My List row on the home screen also drives me nuts.

 

I feel like that Halo show is significantly better if you go into knowing close to nothing about Halo. As a video game adaptation it may be disappointing, but just viewing it as a straight up sci-fi action drama without any preconceived notions I thought it was pretty solid.

 

This was my thoughts as well

 

I watched Us and Night Crawler over the weekend. Us was fine but NC was kinda weird.

Night Crawler is so good

I like The VVitch and The Northman more but The Lighthouse is still good.
Lady Bird, It Follows, Birdman, and Gravity are all good picks, havent seen the rest

 

Loveee Nightcrawler. Might be one of my favorite films of the 2010's.

imitation Game was very mediocre, but that film did have a positive impact because it did result in the British government retroactively pardoning tens of thousands of gay men charged under the same law Turing was. I will give it props for that.


I remember liking Birdman, but it is one of those Oscar season movies that I saw once and enjoyed and then never really thought about ever again.

 

Jake and Riz were great I will say that. There were a few scenes where the score kinda takes you out of it. Hard to explain but it was just weird.

 

Jake not even getting an Oscar nomination for Nightcrawler is some of the dumbest shit ever. But the Oscars are already some of the dumbest shit ever

Jesus that premise. McKay really has no knack for subtly in his attempts at satire at all.

 

Looking at the Best Actor noms that year ok yeah that was Leo's year so JG wouldn't have won anyway, but he would have least taken the spot of Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girls or Fassbender in Steve Jobs.

 

Remember when Eddie Redmayne being a big time prestige actor was a thing? HP did no favors for that man's career.

 

I think you may have looked at the wrong year. Eddie Redmayme won the year Jake could’ve been nominated

His performance in Jupiter Ascending is so crazy.
